  1. I have just switched TDM to 1.19.1. Now we have one more version of OpenAL to try in case of problems. Maybe at least one of four versions would work perfectly for everyone

  5. I don't think its the mission and I actually remember this happening to me once when I updated my darkmod. Do you have these files in your darkmod install? script / tdm_ai_monster_elemental.script defs / tdm_ai_monster_elemental.def

  7. A cool scary mission, but sadly I had the same problem as others here in that the door to Olivia's room was not open. I got stuck completely until I checked this thread and noclipped through the door, so you need to fix that fast! I had a similar problem with the closet on the ground floor, the skeleton blocked the door and it couldn't be opened. It worked after a restart, but you might take the chance to fix that too. Last not least it fealt strange not having lockpicks and the doors being unlocked by the ghost instead! Why not make all doors without keys pickable? I don't think the story would change much and I wouldn't feel like the stupiest thief ever, having lost his lockpicks :)!

  8. Having an open-source engine is a lot more exciting for every programmer than converting a project to a new engine. You can just implement the features you want yourself and actually learn how they work, which is really exciting. And honestly, UE4 doesn't add that many new features. Granted, there is some nice motion blur and depth of field as well as different SSAO implementations. Especially the latter would be a welcome addition to TDM, which I planned to tackle some time ago, but then life got in the way! ?

  9. There are also a lot of fan maps for Tomb Raider, I think the 4th one. Unfortunately they never had a clean & unified FM installer like Thief 2 had, so a lot of TR FMs one has to self-install, and some are installed differently than others. That was always a big stumbling block on the whole scene and community gelling like it did for Thief.

  10. He is the creator of Doom 3, and TDM is using game engine of Doom 3. Simply speaking, the most important part of the programming code of TDM was written by the team led by that guy more than 15 years ago.

  12. Yeah, the biggest problems is, that there is no way to knock out guards permanently. However, somehow I liked the game and thus finished it. Psi-Ops is definitely worth a try. The PSI abilities can be used for various stealth attacks....and the game does not take itself too serious.

  13. I just tried Metal Gear Solid for the first time, but I quickly got fed up with the horrible controls and camera. I quickly noticed that it is not the type of game I am looking for anyway. I was looking for an alternative to the magnificent Splinter Cell games, but alas, there are none!
