    Live Background

    The mainmenu gui doesnt show any 3d models. The livebackground feature is just a combination of a 2d Gui and TDM-map.
  3. As i mentioned earlier in topic "how about redesign tdms mainmenu" i would love to see a live-background feature in TDM. So I have created a early techdemo, for you all. You only have to add the pk4 to the folder of your mission, to see a glimpse of my idea. But a mission using only the d3 camera, would be great. I would like to hear your opinions about it. (and some answers to solve some problems) In collaboration with Bikedude, we found out that: you really need to use the D3 camera-entity to work it. (otherwise the background the reacts on the playermovement. Because its ingame-ingame)And for a faster loadtime, the map needs to be small (one or 2 rooms, with a few objects)Problems for now: Dont know how to disable/ignore automaticly the "click to start".I dont know how to show the edited guis automaticly (i use now the inventory grid run code)I havent seen/tested this package thats starts with a d3 camera.   4. Or you create a cinematic scene using the player model (or another model with fighting animations) and a d3-camera. (Like the d3 and q4 intro) Its almost impossible to create a prey-1 intro, due playermodel limited animations. (see also topic the player has no animations or shadow)
  5. But thats reality. And it creates another play difficulty. I would love to see this as a feature in tdm. The playermodel need some love too. Like what the developers did in thief 3.
  6. Im sorry, havent followed this topic for a time. I am busy this week (but i have time in the weekend. Saturday preferably. ). But the weather is not good atm. But I hope you can move (or book) your trip to somewhere in spring.
  7. I am horrible at these games, so i watch the playtroughs. I watch them as movies. This "movie" has a great atmosphere, nice animations and backgrounds, background sounds.
  8. I think it was a database connectionerror on ttlg-forum's side. The password it mentioned, is NOT about your password, but the account what the webserver uses to connect to ttlg mysql database, esme. (error 1862)

  12. Or "looking through a keyhole". Just install tdm. (using the updater or installer and all the manuals we have given you) If it goes wrong, your uncle will fix it.
  13. Not enough beginners experience / knowledge. (but he plays his games on steam) (how did he installed steam?) As springheel said earlier, there are many people like me, who would like to help. I reuploaded the tdminstaller executable, to help him. (he have only to follow the instructions) Im now adding a steamshortcut feature to it. And i was thinking about remote assistance.
  14. Yes, and see also topic thief 4 is trash. Can be installed from steam. For TDM, im working on a feature of the tdm installer (windows), that can almost automatically create a shortcut to TDM in Steam.

If not, change the filename of the updater, run the updater again and remove the old updater: change the name of "tdm_update" to "tdm_updateold" (for example), run the tdm_updateold. After the update, you will see two tdm_updates. Remove tdm_updateold.Or create a new folder, place the updater in there and run the updater. remove the old folder.
  17. Well, one of the official tdm-mirrors has a open directory, where you can download the pk4 file of the trainingsmission (training_mission.pk4). (then create a folder in the "fms" folder named "training_mission", put pk4 in there, run tdm, install trainingsmission from the installed mission list) But I dont know if it works on 1.07, so please to update to the newest version 2.05, if you have the chance. or wait a short time for 2.06.
  18. It gives me the christmas feeling. So, one of my favorite winter songs , to keep my cheerful during a heavy snowfall, when coming early from work waiting for public transport to bring me home. (i need one now, at this moment. weathercode red in the Netherlands. And the tought i have to walk to home 2 hours)
  19. Its possible to download a tdm-wiki article, for offline viewing. open the article, select printable version of a page and save it. As a test, I downloaded the whole wiki using with wget (for windows). Example: .\wget --mirror --convert-links --html-extension --no-parent --no-check-certificate --wait=0 http://wiki.thedarkmod.com c:\temp\test Warning: The download takes time. 2.5 hours and 602 mb.
  20. Do we have tutorials which can be downloaded? I know only the video tutorials from youtube and texttutorials on the wiki. For the game download 2.0 standalone from moddb the dark mod. But my advice is to download the newest version from another location/provider/internetprovider.
  21. Walked yesterday in the streets of the old city center of Deventer. (see picture) It reminded me a bit of the starting point of st lucia mission. (but i know that Bruges has more beautiful streets)
