I've got a solution for you. Make a func_static out of a small brush. Select the "model" key/value pair. Now deselect everything and select the models you want to extract position data from. In the entity inspector you should still have the model key/value pair queued up. Apply it to everything selected by clicking the green checkmark. Now all the models will be replaced with the brush you created. Export this selection of brushes as an obj.

If you export the selection as a prefab you'll end up with a text file containing the data your after. But can you automate the loading and positioning of models from within Softimage?

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "generic null positions"? I assume you mean a collection of points but even then I'm wondering where you intend to sample those points from? Entity origins? I'm also curios what would you intend to do with that data outside of DR? How would it be helpful?
