  1. I've been looking on how to make a light switch, that will turn them on/off. I've already set targets to the lights I want to set off with a switch but don't know what spawnarg to use to set the color black when switch is triggered. Also how to control the speed of light (fire) flickering?
  2. No ambient music doesn't fade away. What I ment is like you said, when doors are closed you can't hear footsteps, talking or any other ambient sound from the room (fire cracking, clock ticking, etc.), as clear as when they're open. Same thing with wall between. How can it be made?
  3. How do you make ambient sounds and talking quieter if you're on the other side of the wall or when closing the door? I have the same problem with light in some cases.
  4. Finally done it! Had to use 3 lights to do the job (one is spotlight that gives reflection on the floor). I have a problem with fire flickering speed. By default is like having a strobe light. What's the property to adjust this?
  5. I've made a patch over model window I have to place a different texture, but none give the desired effect. Even though some are lighter they're not glowing, as if the moon would shine through. Is there really no way to make textures glow?
  6. Now I have some problems with making window glow. I made a patch just slightly in front of window and added 'flarezizable' texture to it as instructed here: http://wiki.thedarkmod.com/index.php?title=How_to_give_Textures_a_nice_Glow Allthough the 'K' key is not binded to DR so this guide isn't that helpful. I've added the 'spawnarg _color 1 1 1' to that patch entity as instructed in this topic: http://forums.thedarkmod.com/topic/11266-moonlight-through-windows/page__p__220096__hl__shaderparm__fromsearch__1?do=findComment&comment=220096 Still I don't get any positive results. Any suggestions?
  7. Thank you, I got it now! I'll keep that in mind, allthough the planet on which TDM's based on is not Earth, so it could have multiple moons
  8. Can't find that option with RMB on worldspawn. Also tried clicking it below where slightly different menu appears but still no *convert to func_static*. With copy/pasting, I ment models, entities and their properties.
  9. Thanks I'm working on this! I have a problem with choosing classes, when I add func_static it doesn't replace the class worldspawn of my patch. Tried this on other maps and I can switch classes with no problem. What am I doing wrong? Is there a way to make moonrays more visible and how can I make window texture (in my case window model) glow a bit, so it looks like the moon is shining through? Also is there a way to copy/paste things between projects?
  10. Anyone got this result yet? For now I could only project pointed light of windows, but how do you create light streams and particles of dust or whatever that is? It's beautiful!
  11. Hmm that seems to have helped, thanks!
  12. It seems like my DR won't save the D3 engine path when restarted. And since you have to restart DR to effect changes, it cannot be done.
  13. I always have Firefox (dozen of tabs) turned on while building in DR. And it worked yesterday when I dmap -ed my first map (room). No errors everything fine. So today I just changed some lights and changed player start position a bit and it's crashing every time since. I also changed camera speed nad rotation in prefrences just before that first dmap crash, and ticked 'Open last map on startup', when my game (Doom3) path got deleted and suddenly all textures and models were gone. So I put the path to Doom3 folder again, and it resets to blank everytime I restart DR. Then I created just a simple room, with 1 light, a texture and player start, and it still crashes on dmap. I have 4GB RAM. I just installed DR and DM 2 days ago and tried a few missions by others with no problem.
  14. Everytime I do a dmap, my DR crashes. Any idea why? I've also tried this with simple one room compiling. Same thing happens.
  15. I used a standard model of doorframe and tried all mansion door models that fit the color of the frame, but none of them fits the frame, so how do I fix that?
  16. I have two questions. 1. How do you actually scale the built-in models? I've tried with 'Rotate and scale...' but the scale options are disabled when selecting a model. 2. How do you make 1D surfaces for decals? I tried with thinnest possible cube (0.125) but it leaves odd edges around.
  17. That's what I was looking for, thank you!
  18. Hey, I just downloaded the DarkRadient editor and I'm aiming to make a map someday, so I stumbled upon a trouble when clipping. How do I get rid of that purple edge and lay a texture over it? Thanks for your answers!
  19. How is that? I tried to lower the ambient volume, but that includes all the sound effect sounds. There's no control in the settings, to just adjust music.
  20. Oh by the way there was one golden key in the Lord Theo's drawer, which I couldn't pick up no matter what I did. I tried shooting it with arrows, drop objects on it, jumping around it like a monkey, but just couldn't get it. Is it a bug, if so where should it open the door to?
  21. The mission was enjoyable and I really liked how one thing led to another for example getting the keys to get access to more rooms. Though castle seemed a bit empty, it's those details that give a brilliant atmosphere to it - objects in the halls would do the trick. I have one BIG complain though. The music is just terribly LOUD. It was so loud I could easily hear clipping, not to mention not hearing my own footsteps or guards what they're saying - your not the first case to have done this by the way. Just try to check your music amplitude before putting it in. Overall I'd say 3/5.
  22. I've tried to do a system restore, including getting the file from another computer and putting it in the same folder. It didn't work. I've checked many forums for the answer but noone had the same problem. But over time I forgot how the file was called.
  23. Yes I'm familliar with roaming because of the Minecraft, but didn't find DR there. I have a problem because I'm missing one .dll file I deleted from Windows folder, thinking it was the bug. Tried system repair, but it didn't replace the file. I can't install any Visual C++ programs because of it, for example Maya and so on. That's why I'd like to avoid uninstalling VC++. I guess I'll just have to reinstall the whole OS.
