On the positive side, a fan mission for Thief Gold is probably so underground that no one will ever notice.

I saw and heard a lot of stuff in The Black Parade which definitely isn't OK for them to use... sounds and textures from Thief 3 and a lot of other games. Seems like they are not very particular with that stuff. As you mentioned, probably best to just ask them.

Me neither. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it. Provided you understand how saves and quicksaves work, of course.

So, basically, what quickloading already does (and is there for). I just took a look. Loading a manually saved game is a matter of one key press (Escape key), clicking on "Load/Save game", and then double clicking on the manually saved game. Not asked too much IMO.

There is no "problem", you just don't understand what quickload does. As the name suggests, it loads the quicksave. To load a manually saved game, you have to go to the menu, and load that game. Just like in every other game. Simple. And, no loot is lost. By the way, there is really no reason to manually save at all. The Dark Mod has a system which saves 2 quicksaves, so, if you messed up and accidentally quicksaved the game, you still have the other (older) quicksave available. The only real reason I see for saving manually is before a (in your opinion) mission critical action, where you might want to see what the outcome of another action is.

Thanks for the heads up, but, I really hope Epic will "up their game" in terms of their freebies. Guess they spoiled us too much in the past with their free games...

I just finished this mission. Excellent, I really liked it. Especially impressive considering it's your first mission. So, yeah, I really liked it, hope to see some more missions from you in the future.

Do other games work with the new monitor? Also, please name the monitor, so we can check if it has some additional hardware feature (audio, USB etc.), which could mess up or something.

I found the Thief Guild site to be a good place to download, and check for mission ratings. Although I also played 2 or 3 missions now which were just average, and still got a rating of 8/10. So, not completely reliable.

Just finished "The Sound Of A Burrick In A Room" by skacky in 5 hours plus... Best fan mission for Thief 1 or 2 I played so far. That one was really near perfect. Nothing boring in the mission, interesting objective, perfect difficulty, nice size (huge without being a maze to navigate), very good level design, great atmosphere etc. Really round and professionally designed mission.

Booting from a USB stick is not performant though. Especially when you plan to play games, that's a bad solution IMO. If it's that important, I would consider buying a second PC second hand, if you don't want to do a dual boot installation.

@joebarnin Do you have a decommissioned PC somewhere? I used to install Linux on those, rather than doing the dual boot "mess". Of course, the hardware should be capable of running TDM.

Hmm... my motivation to try it is getting lower and lower. Arkana's games were a no-brainer for me once. That's definitely a thing of the past. Anyway, for free I would give it a go, of course.

I've only seen videos of it yet, and read reviews, but, the opinions about it seem pretty split... especially true stealth doesn't seem to be possible anymore since one of the updates. It also looks pretty "modern" in terms of characters and story. I don't want to get more into that, this shouldn't turn into a political thread. That's why I wouldn't spend money on it, but, would surely take a look for free. I don't think this is anywhere near the enjoyment of Dishonored for me.

True, but, 1. this thread is called "Western stealth FPS with Stephen Russell", and, 2. nothing you said changes anything for me. The gameplay still doesn't look like something I'd enjoy. And, if you really think this forum is cynical, then you don't visit forums much. Actually, the majority of the users are are pretty mature, unlike in other forums.

I wonder if Epic Store soon gives Deathloop away. It's already been given away on Amazon Prime Gaming, obviously in cooperation with Epic Store, where it can be activated, so, I wonder if one of the next freebies will be Deathloop directly on Epic Store. Would be nice, as I at least want to take a look at it, but, don't want to spend any money on it (I really dislike what Arkane did in the recent past...).

TBH, the videos I've seen so far don't really turn me on.
