  1. "Oh, no! A book. Now I must see the trouble skimming it through for clues the mapper placed there.." ^ After far too many FM, this is my reaction. And any random note is enough to destroy any atmosphere built by the map until that point. "Mmh, what I was doing before reading this poem of the fan mission's author about a guard's boots? Oh, right, I need to evade the dangerous zombies patrolling the nearby hall." Clues: can't you use different kind of clues for the different levels of difficulty? This way you can just give them away on normal and hide them in a encyclopedia on expert.
  2. First check out for Doom 3 patch installation bug: If you install Doom 3 in a folder named Doom 3 C:\games\Doom 3 The patch will try to install itself in Doom3 (see, no spaces ><) C:\games\Doom3 <- argh Solution: option 1)uninstall D3 and reinstall it in a folder named Doom3 instead <- best approach? option 2)correct the patch installation to reach the Doom 3 folder <-not tested option 3)if you don't want reinstall game and patch, grab the patch files in Doom3 and copy them to Doom 3. <- what I did If your game is C:\games\Doom 3 create inside a folder named "darkmod" C:\games\Doom 3\darkmod and put the updater there. Run the updater and you should get something like this:
  3. I like that almost-searching walk. It would be nice for a guard looking for his lost keys (maybe alternate with a "stop to look better"). Looking at the video I can almost hear him mumbling. Or with some slight difference it could be a monster that mimic a beggar.
  4. What's on your mind?

  5. I fixed my id+black screen* removing from darkmod/fms the folder of the mission I failed to correctly install and the most recent modified files in the darkmod folder (currentfm, gamex86.dll, doomconfig.cfg, tdmlauncher.log). *caused by my closing the darkmod with alt+f4 when the screen was apparently unresponsive. While I doubt the log file matter, maybe the currentfm can be a problem too?
