  1. I've done quick Google searches looking for Pattern (.PAT) files for PhotoShop CS, but am not having any luck. I assume there are free ones somewhere out there, does anyone know a good site for them?? Finding a tree bark pattern would be cool, but I think it would be even cooler if there was a mega-load of pattern files somewhere out there. Help? Okay, I've found a couple lame ones -- mainly just grandma fabric patterns. I'd like some nature patterns.
  2. I see your normal mapping vid (very cool, btw), but I'm not seeing the character modelling one today. I saw it last night -- I was thinking since it was only 12MB that you were still uploading -- but now it's not in the folder Great job on the normal mapping vid. If I ever get my hands on Lightwave, it'll be cool to try.
  3. oDDity - This will absolutely make my day! Does anybody know where I can download a free 30-day trial of Lightwave?
  4. If anyone finds a setting for this, I'm all ears...
  5. I'm cool with that. It just kinda has the appearance that he maybe just got done playing a sport (fencing?) and removed his helmut revealing his disheveled and sweaty hair. Regardless, I agree it would be nice to have some helmut-less guards. This is good.
  6. Awesome! I love seeing these objects from your 3-D rendering software.
  7. Yeah, I think it would look a bit out-of-place to see a T-Rex in a Thief-like game... unfortunately. Good work, but Jurassic Park kind've comes to mind when I see it (maybe because it was just on TV yesterday, but still...)
  8. I trust your judgment, New Horizon. I have to be honest: I haven't yet tried your Minimalist project. But based on everything I saw you did, I have confidence your arrow knocking (?) change was a change for the better. I don't want a chain gun for the bow and arrow system. LASER targeting would be nice, but not a chain gun. HAHAHAHA, kidding about the LASER Why did I never try your Minimalist project? I think I had already pretty much beaten the game by the time your project came out, and I had already installed John P's "no arrow trail" fix and had tweaked the loot glint and Garrett's face myself, so I didn't want to mess any of that up. And there wasn't enough replay value in the game for me to want to play it again. If I re-install T3 in the future, I'll be sure to load the Minimalist project.
  9. Uh oh, I think you're getting a little too realistic for my tastes, Springheel I much enjoyed launching arrows across courtyards to take guards out from long distances. It was fun to draw the arrow back, aim high and hope you hit the dude from 200 feet (or whatever) away. That kind've stuff is fun for me in games. And I don't want to have to wait forever for the arrow to be drawn, etc. Taking everything away and making it a pure bow & arrow sim doesn't sound fun for me. As with most things, though, it all comes down to actually trying it. But on the surface, I don't think I'd like it.
  10. Good points, oDDity. We could maybe try it without crosshairs to see how hard it is? You know, come to think of it, part of the fun in T2 was sometimes missing the target and hearing the broadband arrow hit pavement, then watching the guards get stirred up while you try to find a place to securely hide. Same with water arrows -- it forces you to be very careful, especially if there aren't very many water arrows. Sometimes missing the mark made it seem more realistic. I'm game for no targeting system. Anyone else in? I think it's worth a shot. I still think we should keep the 'arrow zoom in effect' that occurs after pulling the arrow back for a couple seconds, though. I liked that.
  11. I liked T2's bow targeting system. Less precise than crosshairs (which is good), yet not so imprecise that it's impossible to shoot with consistency.
  12. I must admit I never really played any FMs either. However, I saw LGS ranked many FMs and gave 'Inverted Manse' high marks... so I tried it. I must say it is pretty cool. I'm not a big zombie/haunt fan and there happen to be quite a few. Too many zombies is my only complaint so far. Despite my dislikes for zombies, it's still quite interesting to play. A lot of work was put into the campaign, that's for sure. Check out LGS' rankings of FMs. That will help you weed out the ones that might not be so good.
  13. The book looks great. One thing my eye noticed, though, was that it was maybe a little too perfect around the edges. If some randomness can be thrown in, I think the book would look a little more realistic and used. For example, have some page edges slightly skewed. Some with wear. More jagged edges for the page corners running down the width of the book, etc.
  14. Hey, looks good, SH! Keep up the good work. I agree with oDDity that it looks like he should have some sort of head gear, no matter how cheap or makeshift. I don't care either way, as I see your point -- it's just something that seemed to be missing. That's a cool idea, SneaksieDave, btw.
  15. Excellent. I have absolutely no respect for your's either  Carry on with your mediocre work
  16. Your models suck, oDDity. (Actually, I'm just kidding I only said that because some people take criticism as a catalyst to do better. I didn't want you softening up on us.) Ha ha. Hopefully you're sarcastic, like me, and understand where I'm coming from.
  17. Yes, Pirates! was also one of my favorite games on the C64 and am also afraid of trying the new one; though I hear it got some good reviews.
  18. And kinda like The Ring, where the freaky girl crawls out of the TV screen.
  19. It's kinda cool, SH. I can see it working.
  20. Dude, that's some trippy-ass artwork. I like it
  21. I loved my C64!!! And Amiga 500!!! Those were the best! Oh my gosh, Sword of Fargoal?? That was like my first experience with an RPG/D&D type game: http://home.comcast.net/~fargoal/ Back on topic, I can't wait to try T2X and Imperium!!
  22. I figure some of us will just be messing around in Photoshop and come up with miscellaneous Thief-related artwork from time-to-time that may or may not be usable for DarkMod. Such an occurrence just happened for me. I was just messing around in Photoshop and made this flaming hammer, with Springheel's priest in the background. Nothing special; just did it for fun. This thread can be used by anyone who just happens to whip out some miscellaneous thief-related artwork and wants to post it for others to see. Since we all love Thief, I'm sure we can all appreciate thief-inspired artwork, no matter how great or small.
