  1. I would have suggested also trying http://www.thedarkmod.com/missions/ , but it seems that there are no links available.. did something go wrong?
  2. You may also be thinking of Jump Cuts, or Jump cuts combined with shaky cam.
  3. No, I'm pretty sure the thanks he got for his countless hours were near universal praise from the membership for his work, and constant helpful attitude. If you've really "been watching" you'll know the things he's being punished for. "Heavy handed adjustment for bug fixing" = remodeling significant parts of a map that weren't considered buggy? Or even altering a map that permission wasn't given for and inventing entirely in his own head that permission was even given? "Really?"? How heavy this hand must be! "Wanton use of templates" is the same as copying whole-cloth from other missions and doubling-down when confronted on it? "For real?"? I don't think you've been watching all that closely at all. That or you think everyone else is a liar?
  4. The Long Dark currently 75% off on steam, great opportunity for anyone who didn't get it on a previous discount.
  5. No, but you can censure their asses to the ground, and have an easily linkable and justified reason for doing so. It's sorta almost the same thing with a law IRL. Making a law that says murder is illegal doesn't stop people killing each other. It does give you a pretty solid justification for locking the murderer up for x years, because there's a law against murder, and they broke it.
  6. As far as I can see/am concerned, the issue is when the situation appears to be like this: Regardless of intention, it looks like plagiarism. During my studies I was warned repeatedly against plagiarism, and one fellow student in the second year was facing a possible expulsion level disciplinary action because he'd forgotten to correctly cite a significant portion of one area of his work. Plagiarism is not a joke, avoid the hassle and either cite, or do your own work. That way forgetting something doesn't lead to this mess, where people are discussing whether or not someone who's been here from the very start should get the boot.
  7. Plagiarism Plagiarism is presenting someone else’s work or ideas as your own, with or without their consent, by incorporating it into your work without full acknowledgement. All published and unpublished material, whether in manuscript, printed or electronic form, is covered under this definition. Plagiarism may be intentional or reckless, or unintentional. Under the regulations for examinations, intentional or reckless plagiarism is a disciplinary offence. University of Oxford
  8. Goat Simulator would like to have a word with you..
  9. If you need any extra help, I'm sure I can dust off the ol' testin' gloves.
  10. The map you're talking about is La Banque Bienveillante by Airship Ballet, with the loot bags emulating the Payday series loot bags (stuff that's too heavy for your pockets like a duffel bag full of gold bars). First mission in the Quinn Co, campaign if anyone is interested in testing the system out for themselves right now.

    Steam sale

The Long Dark is a whopping 75% off, biggest discount I've ever seen for it. Highly recommend, price is a steal.
  12. I found it under 2.05, got people in Discord using 2.06 to test as well, it's broken for everyone (the speed potions, that is).
  13. The first two chapters are supposed to be getting a rework in time for the chapter 3 release based on the feedback they got on them (they are too hand-holdy and fetch-questy currently), but they do function as Springheel noted, as an extended tutorial. I got the game back when it first went early access on Steam, only had survival mode, and had 1 map for it. I think it took me 6 or 7 tries to live longer than a single day. Still playing it all these years later, 530+ hours, and don't regret the purchase. Amazing game, story *hopefully* gets better, but survival sandbox right now is where it's at. Can't really compare it to anything I've played so far, except *maybe* Don't Starve. edit: Looks like the sale has ended, bad luck to anyone who missed out.
