I'm trying to update darkmod from 2.03 to 2.05 and it seems to be in a continuous loop telling me to "continue" and "restart". It appears to be downloading a 1.5 mb file each time and most of the time it ends with 90% or so done. It has on occasion downloaded 100%, but the loop persists. Can someone please help? Rich

I can open it with wordpad,(notepad) make changes, but cannot overwrite the file. I can write to a different location however. I'll check the processes and see if any darkmod element is running and try again. It just says access denied, you may need administrative rights. I don't know how to open a file with admin rights. I can and do run darkmod as administrator when playing the game. It seems I don't have permission to write to "this location". Need Admin rights. I am log in as administrator, so what else do I need to do to write to darkmod.cfg?

Well, I need tech help again I'm afraid. I tried to change the CFG file in Darkmod and was denied access. I changed the file attributes to allow write function and still got denied. Must be a security flag set somewhere, but I can't find it. Help anyone?

Got TDM loaded and played Briarwood Cathedral from beginning to end with numerous saves/reloads on my Velocity PC without a problem. This crash on save problem seems to be unique to my Dell AIO27] I'll try the NVIDIA fix and see what happens. I have been running as Admin all along as it won't run otherwise. Thanks for the help I downloaded all the missions one at a time. Yikes!

Now I have a new problem. I resurrected my Velocitymicro pc and installed darkmod. Now the program freezes when downloading multiple missions. It will download one at a time or maybe a couple, but eventually it just freezes and I have to close it and restart darkmod. This is a fresh copy of darkmod 2.03 on a clean pc running win 8.1 ] Haven't tested the save game functions yet. Is this a Windows problem with 8.1? What's going on here? I posted my CFG file yesterday and am waiting for a response.

My .cfg file covers 7.5 WORD pages, so I'll refrain from posting unless someone insists. It is not read only the mission is Briarwood Cathedral. Running the latest version of darkmod. This happens with the F4 save and manual saving from the main menu. It's driving me nuts. Rich

On two occasions now, when I execute an F4 game save, TDM crashes to desktop with no error message. Upon loading the save game, I get a cache offset error and all my progress is lost. I'm running on a Dell AIO27 Win 8.1 Am I alone or is there a fix for this problem?

Here's the latest.. If I run darkmod as Administrator, I can contact the server, I can install/uninstall a mission, I can load a mission until it says press attack to start and I cannot start the mission. It isn't hanging as the esc key works as does F5 and F8. I just can't start the mission. The cursor is also missing from the screen. Am I alone with this problem? Is it unique to Dell? What?

I don't freakin believe this. Now it's back to the original problem. I can't contact the server. I can't install a mission. I can't uninstall a mission. I can't play the installed mission. What the heck is going on and is there a fix for this? I'm running win 8.1 pro on a new Dell AIO.

The missions were listed. I'd click on one and it would say mission installed and restarting. Upon restart, no mission installed. I was also unable to connect to the darkmod mission server. I finally fixed this problem by deleting everything in the darkmod folder. Downloaded a fresh copy of the installer and downloaded a new copy of darkmod and missions. All is well now. Must have had a corrupt copy. Rich

Do you mean that some of the FM's that used to work will not work in the stand alone? If so, is there a list of those that will or will not work? Thanks

Of course. Al the FM's were downloaded using Darkmod. They ran fine before I upgraded

I upgraded to the stand alone darkmod and now when I install a mission, it says it's installed. But when I go to play it, it says no missions installed. I checked my fm folder and they all have the .pk4 extension. What do I need to do to fix this problem??
