  1. I had already deleted the darkmod.cfg file as an initial experiment on my part before ever posting here. I dont see a scripts file anywhere. It was generating NO logfile whatsoever. I just deleted everything except the pk4s and tdm_update.exe from the root folder reran the update and now it works. I dont know what caused it but its fixed now. Thanks for your time

logFile "2" but I still dont seem to have a dump file that I can see anywhere. Maybe I should just start clean but downloading my FM's again will suck. i'm on shitty internet for now unfortunately. Edit: I just started downloading in another directory I can just move them over possibly ? Will advise when finished downloading if it works as a new download. Edit2:I didnt understand what you were asking for before sorry. I used "thedarkmod.exe +gfxinfo +condump mylog.txt +quit" and it does not create a logfile at all something to do while downloading new files... still curious whats wrong Clean install works just fine. Could it be the changed video card I went from a radeon to an nvidia, uninstalled radeon drivers first of course. I have the latest driver available.

Running windows 10 up to date I updated the Darkmod to 2.07 vcredist fails since I have a newer version installed( I use visual studio 2017 ) - [3A40:23B0][2019-05-02T01:46:07]e000: Error 0x80070666: Cannot install a product when a newer version is installed. First I tried updating my drivers I have a gtx1080 Still same issue, all other games work just fine. Any suggestions ?
  4. Ok Found my missing doom3 cd in the bottom of my daughters toychest. Her bottom doesnt like me right now! Apparently I had put it in 16:10 mode instead of 16:9 was my problem. A whole lotta grief and trouble over my silly mistake. Thanks for the help.
  5. Well I could not disable cat AI(WTF were they thinking of ??) so I tried the executable rename and then it just stopped loading at all. I renamed it but it still wouldnt work... I deleted and redownloaded the mod but nothing. Doom3 would load though... Next I went to reinstall doom3 but my lovely daughter and her friends were playing in the basement and my doom3 disc3 is missing. I will have to buy the game again before I can try it again thanks for all the replys though.

Shader: HQ 245.6 fps - was second run Out of curiosity tried again first run 16.8 seconds 177.6 12.6 235.7 13.0 229.0 13.2 226.1 13.3 223.7 Odd how after the second run it started performing worse each time.
  9. After not playing for a while I installed to my new computer the latest version. When I walk/run it is like I am walking diagonally instead of forward's. My girlfriend agrees so is it just my computer or does anyone else have this problem ?   10. Dont forget the coffee cup holder they include with computers nowadays. Some people grow quite annoyed when the coffee cup holder stops working. My ex girlfriend lost a music cd onetime, she put it in the "cdrom" drive she said. Didnt find it for 6 months, she had inserted it into the 5 1/4 floppy drive and I found it when it came sliding out as I was moving the computer.
  11. My vote for a restart is yes. I also would like one for missions. otherwise I have to die or quit out then reload.
  12. I tried your savegame and it freezes after about a minute every time I load it. I loaded one of my saves for Glenham tower and it plays fine. Now as for what causes it no idea. I would suggest the old tried and true method that we did on dos and is still relevant IMO. Uninstall and reinstall everything. By everything I mean Doom3 itself then the darkmod and finally the FM. Then if it STILL does it perhaps someone can figure out why.

Windows 7 64 Ultimate - CPU Phenom2 x3 720 Black Edition @ 3.7ghz and the 4'th core unlocked - System RAM 4gb Corsair DDR3 1600 - Video Card Xfx HD5670 1GB - Video Drivers (if that info is available) catalyst 10.6 1920x1080(46" Lcd native) - Experienced Performance, Steps you had to perform to get it running or problematic driver versions, etc. Smooth as silk at max settings other then AA which is at default
  14. Like Crispy said that is almost certainly optimized away by the compiler. In the old days you needed to do it yourself. Loop unrolling for example and specifying register for a variable to ask(no guarantee) the compiler to place it in a register to speed up access. Nowadays you do not need to go to those extremes though we aren't running 486's anymore after all and compilers are super smart compared to the old days.
  15. This was pretty decent but I had some issues unfortunately. I was trapped in the armory in the corner and had to reload. Unfortunately every time I hit quickload the game crashes with an access violation. Visual studio grabs it, unfortunately I have no idea how to debug a full screen 3d app so I cant give more information then that. The other missions all worked fine for me not one single crash, this one plays fine as long as I dont try to quickload it. my system ECS 945PL-A 2gb DDR2-667(2x1Gb sticks) Pentium D-805 2.66Ghz (Stock its not overclocked) 320GB WD, 640GB WD, LG 22x DVD Burner all sata EVGA Nvidia 8600GT 256MB GDDR2 Dell 20" WideSreen 1680x1050 Windows XP SP3 fully patched EDIT i was changing the compression setting and noticed that I had a directory for each map so i deleted all of them and reinstalled the map now it loads fine> The odd thing was I COULD load the save file made by quicksave I just couldnt use quickload key to do it
