  1. I was 44 when Thief came out. I played each of the first 3 games immediately after they were released. It took me a while to get around to the last one (other games on my plate at the time).
  2. Why is this thread in The Dark Mod section rather than in the Off-Topic section?
  3. It's interesting that, while I have downloaded FF 56.0.1, I'm still running 56.0 and it's saying that it's up to date (not automatically updating to 56.0.1). I wonder if it's because I'm running the 64-bit version.
  4. Judith, I know this is my anal side coming out, but you almost always type the word "lightning" (as in "lightning and thunder") when you mean "lighting".
  5. Those are 2 of the sites that I've looked at over the last couple of days, but using those ports doesn't open up Steam for me. That's why I was hoping that someone using this specific modem/router would see this thread and show exactly what he/she did to define the needed ports. It's frustrating that I have no problem connecting to Steam if I have the router's Firewall Protection Level set to "Low", and I had no problem using my old Motorola modem/router (replaced 2 years ago with this one). Unfortunately, I didn't write down how I got the old one to work with Steam at that time. Thanks for the suggestions anyway!
  6. Does anyone here use an Arris SBG6782-AC modem/router? If so, and you can get to Steam with a Firewall Protection Level of "High", what Port Forwarding and/or Port Trigger settings do you use? No matter what values I put in (based on everything I have found on the Internet), I cannot connect with Steam. However, I can connect if I change the Protection Level to "Low", which I don't want to do for any significant period of time (only to update Steam or my Steam games). It's also interesting that the documentation for the router doesn't even mention its Port Forwarding screen, let alone how to use it! I'm tired of playing all my Steam games offline. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  7. Bikerdude, Yesterday, I received an e-mail from Acronis announcing the new 2017 version of True Image. It quoted a price that was for 1 license for 1 PC for 1 year. Was this the case for the 2016 version also -- only good for 1 year? I dropped McAfee anti-virus back when they went to that crap -- no updates to their virus definitions after 1 year.

  9. Looking at reviews of True Image 2016 on Acronis' forum and on Amazon, it seems 2016 has a lot of the same problems that have plagued the versions after 2010. I don't feel comfortable shelling out more money to them for a version that potentially I'll try and then scrap. I've seen some good reviews for a free backup/recovery package -- AOEMEI Backupper Standard 3.5 (you have to pay for the Pro version). I've installed it, and, while its GUI is much more simplistic that what I was used to with Acronis, it seems to do everything I'm looking for. But I need to play around with it some more before I feel comfortable enough with it to have our PCs be totally reliant on it. Thanks for your thoughts, Bikerdude!
  10. I've used Acronis TrueImage (2010 version) for years for backup/recovery of our PCs' hard drives. I had purchased versions 2011 and 2012 when they came out, but they had a lot of bugs (the 2012 version even corrupted the hard drive of a PC that I used at work -- a very bad thing!!!). So I went back to version 2010. However, this version does not seem to like my wife's new Windows 10 PC. Can anyone recommend any current (compatible with Win 7 and Win 10) software that will create a recovery backup (including a USB and/or CD/DVD bootup option) that you use and like? Does anyone know if TrueImage 2016 is more stable than the previous versions (going back to 2011)? Thanks!
  11. Call of Juarez: Gunslinger (the most recent CoJ game) is only 3 years old and is a lot of fun. The 2nd CoJ game (Bound in Blood), besides being enjoyable in itself, also has a lot of fan made missions (quality varies) -- 48 that I would rate good or OK and 37 that I would rate poor or bad.
  12. I always look at it as I've got 1 or more specific objectives to accomplish, and that's what I'm after. If I get more than I need, great, but I'm not going to sweat it if I don't get everything. I'm a thief, not a ransacker.
  13. Since I'm a big fan of Western movies, it's natural that my favorite game soundtracks are from these Western-themed games: -- Call of Juarez -- Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood -- Call of Juarez: Gunslinger -- Red Dead Redemption
  14. My oldest offspring will turn 30 this summer! I'm as old as the hills (or I feel that way after shoveling snow 4 times over the last 2 days).
