The original version of my first ever map and came 3rd in the first even tdm mapping contest, however the work of art you see now has undergone 3 overhauls since then. The core idea was always to build a simple but effective city map, and I think the ciurrent version does that :-)

What places have you found so far, as Im betting you havent found everything.

Well I started in my house, then broke into my neighbor's at the second floor (which leads to a small balcony), and afterward got to the tavern (my favorite place) including its attic and the small garden behind it. Overall I went into all the obvious buildings: The tower, which has a metal hatch that leads to a small outside area secured by fences. The hotel patrolled by the guard, including its attic and all rooms. And of course the sewer segment. Not sure what that outpost at the end was... where a guy sits behind a metal grate window in a small room.

Well there a few more places that you have to find then -

  • the thiefs hideout in the sewers
  • a small room high above the tavern.
  • The buildings across from the hotel.
  • The wine shop behind the hotel, you cant gain access at street level.
  • and a small guard room high up, hint think patrolling archer

  • Sorry... I did find the thief's hideout in the sewers. It was necessary to complete an objective IIRC.
  • I also found the attic of the tavern, not sure if that's what you meant.
  • Not certain which buildings across the hotel, I might or might have not found these.
  • I don't remember the wine shop, so possibly one I missed.
  • Probably didn't find the guard room either.

Fun mission. I got all the objectives, found the hidden chest and finished but...

Spoiler

I couldn't find the key to the chest. I see in this thread someone said "look in the garden" I loaded the game back up and ran around with most of the guards knocked out and saw no garden anywhere, saw some vines near the tavern but thats it.

Spoiler

This mission has been updated, and I suspect the garden was removed, because I also spent a while looking for a garden after failing to find the key myself and checking these forums.

It's not in any garden. Keep going for more specific clues.

Spoiler

There's a readable nearby about how the key is kept near her deceased brother.

Spoiler

There's a portrait of her deceased brother in her rooms.

Spoiler

It's behind the door to her rooms.

Spoiler

It's frobbable, and will reveal the key behind it.

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
