Are there any open ended adventure/action/fantasy/RPG type games that don't pretend to be D&D? The whole concept of player levels etc. shits me. Bloody fuck, it looked like a really nice game.

heXen 1 regarding fantasy/FPS/puzzle/tinyRPG mix. But Hades is it old...

I tried to put an enchantment on a staff in the CS, but it looks like there are no suummoning enchantments for staff, which is completely lame but I don't know what to do, it just blocks me and that's it.

Downolad it and see for yourself. I'm moderate, it is OK but it is much less than I expected it.

Did you change it from constant to cast or whatever?

You can do it through a script effect at worst

Er... Where is that? There isn't any such options on the enchantment or staff...

I'll try to get along with the scripts, I guess... Are those lists of regions in the help under script types are places where the script will work or something?

Oh that right, enchantments for staffs are set to staff.

I did'nt really understand the second line your wrote there.

If you want to see script effects in action, have a look at the staff called "Sanguine's Rose" - it makes daedra spawn and attack an enemy that you cast the spell on - very useful.

Well, if I take a summoning enchantment and tell it to change from scroll to staff it says - can't have that!

But I'm going through a spell scripting tutorial right now.

I found a spell, not a staff, though... Looks like my .esm is a bit ragged...

The second line - http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index...ipts#OnActivate

There is a list of regions.

What exactly are you refering to?

Well, the tutorial seems OK and as long as there are the needed commands there is no trouble. I had to use the RemoveAllItems to make a spell that deletes all items in a container (and makes guards naked), but when I wanted to actually make the items transfer to myself, I never found anything like GetAllItems.

Oh, and that is a list of regions where a certain script IS used.

Well, you don't know if he's done somehting to fake that with the construction set.

I'm not goign to defend the game however, it kept me amused for no more than a week, as long as it took me to do the assassin and thief quests, and most of them were great, but as with Morrowind, you soon find out that the game as a whole is just the same bit of content cloned a few hundred times to give the illusion of a huge world, and the gameplay becomes repetitive and boring.

I'm still waiting for developer's AI systems to actually *be* revolutionary, instead of just a little better than the predecessors. It's fallen into the category of a meaningless marketing catch-word.

Halo 1 and 2 have challenging AI, I loved playing them on Legendary. Though Legendary was essentially the same but they take less damage and you take more etc. Still amazing to watch them go for cover and try and creep up on you etc.

Yes, I much prefer Gothic, not only for the realsitc charactrs, but there is also a real sense of exploring the world, since you don't have the same cloned dungeon popping up every mile along the road, the world of gothic, while obviosuly they us the same textures for two similar caves, is unique everywhere you go in it.

Also, the ridicuolus system requirement are just silly. Oblivion doesn't even look that good when set beside a 3 year old game ike Far Cry.

I've played so many console games, i don't know too much of the PC stuff, but Oblivion looked really rather good on my Toshiba 27" HDTV and on the 360.

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
