That's me................... :(

I was going to say thats actually a pretty cool avatar!

ST - As for your question, not really a big fan of horror movies, but The Thing is a pretty good one, if you havent seen it yet. Also, The Fly. Both can be pretty disgusting...

(No distinction between popular, obscure, and guilty pleasure... but I'll try to exclude "true classics"

like Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Goonies, Stand by Me, Shawshank, stuff that just about everyone likes, etc.)

The Adventures of Baron Von Munchhausen

Legend

Dune (David Lynch)

Hugo

Nausicaa

Castles in the Sky

Brazil

Time Bandits

Stargate (original theatrical release)

Big Trouble in Little China

Buffalo 66

Poltergeist

Dawn of the Dead (both versions)

V for Vendetta (perhaps not true to the comic but a defining Wachowski parable about power, oppression, and possibility)

War Games

Real Genius

All for now

@GameDevGoro, you actually look like the yin to Aerothorn's yang in our community (on TTLG), who's currently sporting blue hair and red tshirts & pants and writes game criticism. If you shook hands the world might explode.

Most of nbohr's list is in my external HD collection of favorites for me too.

What do you see when you turn out the light? I can't tell you but I know that it's mine.

LOL!

Now *that's* funny. ^_^

Oh but I came up with some other movies that I really like and it's very likely that I'll never grow tired of them:

Starship Troopers

Stand By Me (really great mood in this film IMO)

Scott Pilgrim Vs The World

aaaaand...

Léon: The Professional

Hard to remember all the favourites...

Buffalo 66 is really good.

Seen Import Export recently and was extremely impressed.

Any Terrence Malick film, Days of Heaven, Thin Red Line, Tree of Life... Visually, genious, open enough to allow interpretations.

In no particular order:

The Crow - (The Gun fight near the end where Brandon lee actually dies is kind of hard to watch though. He did a great job as The Crow. I'm sure he would have gone on to bigger and better things had he lived.)

The Monty Python films.

The first two Matrix Films (They could have done without the third.)

Dark City

Fight club

Plunkett & Mclean

Trainspotting

Spinal Tap (It goes up to 11)

The Excorcist ( saw it when I was like 12. Couldn't sleep for a week!)

Shawshank Redemption

Falling Down

Old Boy

28 days later

LOTR trilogy

The Wall by Pink Floyd (How can you have any pudding if you dont eat your meat?)

Eraserhead

Labyrinth

I'm sure I've forgotten a few but will post them when I remember.

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
