Guess What I'll Be Doing Today.

lol it's not THAT bad over here, but I guess we'll have more than 50cm tomorrow :o it's snowing the whole day...

That's how much we got in the storm yesterday. Third storm in the last week and a half. I think we have had a total of 70 or 80 cm's fall in that period. Thankfully some of it melted before this storm hit. Apparently we're getting another one this week too. LOL This is the worst we've had in years.

it could still snow here (SE UK), like it has the last 2 years. Torrential blizzards, literally about a foot of snow in only a few hours.

The passage of this front produced squalls, a sudden drop in temperature and a period of heavy snow which settled quickly (even in central London where 2 to 4cmfell). There were also many reports of lightning and thunder.

North Wales, northeast England, the Wolds and parts of East Anglia had significant falls, with depths up to 15cmin places. All forms of transport were seriously disrupted. Scampton/Lincolnshire recorded minus 8.0°C on the 28th.

That was last year

Snow showers on the 29th left significant falls over Wales and parts of the SW and central southern England, some thunder was also reported.

Later during the 30th more substantial bands of snow affected east coast counties, East Anglia, Essex, Beds and Herts, giving between 5 and 12cms in most places. N and NW suburbs of London also experienced a period of heavy snow late afternoon and early evening. There was major disruption and gridlock on motorways in Essex and Herts, some tube networks were also affected.

And that was within one day, exactly a year earlier, 2003.

And it's almost "that time of year" again.

Haha, Renzatic :) We're actually in the upper-50s here (Fahrenheit), have been the past week or two. Abnormally warm for this time of year for us. A few of the ski passes are closed due to melted snow and the lack of any new snowfall. We've broken a few of our records with the warmth. Should help out with the heating bill a little bit! :)

New Horizon - That's a great pic! That's just crazy.

I usually have pretty mild winters where I'm at...but you can never trust it. The biggest snow I've ever seen, which was about as deep as NH's picture, came about during one of our warmest winters ever...right at the end of March.

5 feet of snow and alot of frightened rednecks. We wern't equipped to deal with it since on the occasions when we usually get snow it's only about half an inch and melts away within a day...there were sections of town that were without power for 2 weeks. But my god...the sledding was epic.

What I hate is the way the temperature is going up and down. Two weeks ago we broke 100 year old records for warm temperatures. Mid January and +17C. Then three days later it was -34C with the wind chill.

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
