Fresh Thief 4 cinematic

Add to that the character wears a face mask...

Anyway, now they're trying to say that the voice just didn't suit the character (which sounds ridiculous since the voice IS the character in many respects). Since they're clearly trying to go with a younger Garrett, they may have thought SR just sounded too old.

Which is a pity. I would have loved to play Garrett in his old age.

Come the time of peril, did the ground gape, and did the dead rest unquiet 'gainst us. Our bands of iron and hammers of stone prevailed not, and some did doubt the Builder's plan. But the seals held strong, and the few did triumph, and the doubters were lain into the foundations of the new sanctum. -- Collected letters of the Smith-in-Exile, Civitas Approved

Doing frenetic parkour? Careful what you wish for...

Reminds me of that scene in Indiana Jones 4, speaking of an Indy movie, where a CG aging Indy swoops around in a warehouse on his whip. I thought it looked absurd (and it wasn't even the most absurd sight in that movie; far from it. There was a trove of them). Granted, though, that that's different from a completely in-game character like Garrett. But since they seem committed to some frenetic parkour sequences, I think that was what decided it in the end.

I mean if they're going to nuke the fridge on the fiction anyway, is it better or worse Stephen Russel gets lassoed into it too?

Edit: Also speaking of which... Does everyone else also see some line that was crossed where mainstream AAA movies & games just turned gobsmackingly ridiculous, I mean off the charts mindnumbing -- and do you have a sense of when that line was crossed & what were the major triggers? Star Trek & Transformers 2 were 2009, Indy4 was 2008, Transformers 1 was 2007, Star Wars 3 & Call of Duty 2 were 2005... That's about where I'm seeing the line really starting to get crossed... Before that -- Doom 3 was 2004, and Call of Duty 1 was 2003 -- you're still in the zone of mere dumb exaggeration, but not quite the mind-numbing ridiculousness that was to come.

In any event, we're certainly neck deep in that culture now.

What do you see when you turn out the light? I can't tell you but I know that it's mine.

It became fashion (thanks demagogue ;) ) to "reboot" everythink. I also liked Tobey Magcuire as Spiderman, and there where dozens of enemies left he could fight, but neeh, REBOOT.

The destruction of the glyphs in T3 and therefore the "fall" (I don't know a better word) of the Keepers would have provided a solid foundation for a sequel, but neeh, REBOOT.

So, while moving around you see Garretts hands.

This should mean he is either sleepwalking or has caught a bad case of zombiefication.

Or his character changed from the last games and he is now constantly longing to strangle somebody.

Maybe he is just looking forward to stealing things.

Either way, I think it's weird.

Edit:

HAHA, experience counter for headshots, bullet time for aiming infight arrows.

I think I know enough, then.

I can't get this kind of image out of my head: -

I actually liked the hands reaching out to do stuff - pressing buttons, opening/closing doors, even holding onto things when leaning - but the "I'm not doing anything so I'm going to impersonate a squirrel" hand thing is awful. As is the rest of the gameplay, really, which showed little ambition other than to hang on to Dishonored's coattails.

TBH, it's a bit of a relief. I can now allocate the brainspace that's been occupied with the question "Might T4 be any good?" with more useful activity.

Not sure what yet, but I'll work something out... :P

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
