alt tabbing?

anyway to alt tab darkmod without it crashing and without using windowed mode. I've never dealt with code this huge before but perhaps maybe I could fix it myself and post it on their svn?

You can try.

I read you can alt-tab out when you bring up the console, but now can't remember if that's confirmed.

There are also programs you can have always running in the background that will allow you to always effectively alt-tab out of any program. Dextop is the one I like (it actually creates 2+ desktops and then you can just switch between them; so a little different). I like it because it works for every program, and since it's always running in the background it's always there for me to use.

Funny there should be a thread about this right now. I actually just got back to mapping after getting a new computer, and I had to come search the forums for Simple Minimizer.

 

It's a simple stand-alone AutoHotKey script made by forum use eqagunn. I love it for other programs as well, not TDM.

All you need to do is to have that running, and Alt + M will minimize anything, period.

It's like Kyyrma and Dema's suggestions but actually hard-hides it. It takes the tray icon away and you can't alt+tab to it. It's handy if you're at work and wanna quickly hide what you're doing via hot-key or just have one of those annoying programs that pushes itself to the front every time you try to alt+tab to something else.

I also got troubles with this function and it still does not seem to work in even the newer TDM-Versions like 2.03. The only (actually only partly satisfying) method that natively works for me is using the Task Manager with "always on top" mode and right-clicking on TDM, then minimize. So far I found no better solution.

 

(The thread might be already a bit dusty but the problem still seems to be reality.)

If alt tab do not work, you constantly need to minimize (to hide from the boss xD ) and you don't want to use the 3rd party software suggested by kyyrma then just run TDM at your native resolution but disable fullscreen, yes it will impact performance and you will have the OS window around it, but i'm sure you can go past that in this particular case. ;P
