Well ok I'm not that old and truth be told the last 10 yrs or so I haven't paid that much attention to it.

 

So what will be doing you say, well either getting drunk with friends or family or my favorite hobby that is mission building for TDM.

Mine's on my Google calendar, as much to be sure I take care of myself/treat myself to something I normally might not/prioritize myself (like doodling around in DR).

 

Once past the age to drive, vote, then drink...I stopped keeping track of age, not because it is significant in any way, but just because it's not, and I honestly wouldn't remember. (Which leads to some humor for people if they ask and I have to do the math from my year of birth when they realize I truly haven't a clue.)

 

Either way, enjoy it!

Why not get drunk and then map?

I know your still all young and pretty still so you haven't begun to feel the effects of middle age yet. But being drunk and trying to map would never work, I would not be able to concentrate and/or would fall asleep.

Not that I drink often, but this would be why when I do, there's caffeine involved. Zzz...

I forget my birthday every year, and I'm only 26. But that's may due to the fact that I never understood what you are actually celebrating at this day: That you have withstand another year or that there is one year less left to withstand :P

Man... 26. I think back and when I was 26 I had the best time I've ever had in my life. What a great age.

 

Happy Birthday, Bikerdude! At a certain point, getting drunk looses its appeal completely. Glad to see you're not there yet! :P

  • When I was 26 (or there abouts) I took a sponatanious holiday to visit my first internet g/f - it was the best 2 weeks and the best sex I have ever had). The only fly in the ointment that tained that perfect dream was that a few years down the line she wanted to come over to the Uk and hook up.... while she was still married to someone and had a kid, yup you read it.
  • When I get fit again I will evdevor to relive the stamina (or folly) of my youth, these days getting hammered take a hole day or even a weekend to recover.

      Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

      I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
      Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

      Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?
