NSA not hacked apparently

The Awans fled to Pakistan. They have no loyalty to our political system other than their tenuous ties to the DNC via purloined server data for a blackmail scheme. The capture of devices by DC police means that their blackmail goods are no longer marketable as they used to be. Therefore they are now using stolen CIA / NSA tools that they gained access to via their security clearances.

Why was it speculated that WannaCry is North Korean origin?

Does N. Korea import Chinese keyboards?

"I really perceive that vanity about which most men merely prate — the vanity of the human or temporal life. I live continually in a reverie of the future. I have no faith in human perfectibility. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active — not more happy — nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago. The result will never vary — and to suppose that it will, is to suppose that the foregone man has lived in vain — that the foregone time is but the rudiment of the future — that the myriads who have perished have not been upon equal footing with ourselves — nor are we with our posterity. I cannot agree to lose sight of man the individual, in man the mass."...

The original article is a bit suspect but Flashpoint are funded by CISCO and IBM so there's nothing out-of-hand to

say that it's untrustworthy.

The other posts are documented in multiple new sources. Both Candace and the Awans are people who would have

access to the materials in question. Of course, it could be anyone inside the dept including the NSA themselves

trying to cook-up more charges to go after Assange for the Vault 7 releases.

Rapist?

On May 19, 2017, the Swedish prosecutors dropped their investigation into the rape accusation against Assange and applied to revoke the European arrest warrant

Assange visited Sweden in August 2010. During his visit, he became the subject of sexual assault allegations from two women with whom he had sex. He was questioned, the case was initially closed, and he was told he could leave the country. In November 2010, however, the case was re-opened by a special prosecutor who said that she wanted to question Assange over two counts of sexual molestation, one count of unlawful coercion and one count of "lesser-degree rape" (mindre grov våldtäkt). Assange denied the allegations and said he was happy to face questions in Britain.[7][170]

In 2010, the prosecutor said Swedish law prevented her from questioning anyone by video link or in the London embassy. In March 2015, after public criticism from other Swedish law practitioners, she changed her mind and agreed to interrogate Assange in the Ecuadorian embassy in London, with interviews finally beginning on 14 November 2016.[171] These interviews involved police, Swedish prosecutors and Ecuadorian officials and were eventually published online.[172] By this time, the statute of limitations had expired on all three of the less serious allegations. Since the Swedish prosecutor had not interviewed Assange by 18 August 2015, the questioning pertained only to the open investigation of "lesser degree rape", whose statute of limitations is due to expire in 2020.[173][174][175][176]

On 19 May 2017, the Swedish authorities dropped their investigation against Assange, claiming they could not expect the Ecuadorian Embassy to communicate reliably with Assange with respect to the case. Chief prosecutor Marianne Ny officially revoked his arrest warrant, but said the investigation could still be resumed if Assange visited Sweden before August 2020. "We are not making any pronouncement about guilt", she said

Well, his current legal problem is acting in breach of US laws by hacking classified information: https://www.justice.gov/usao-edva/pr/wikileaks-founder-charged-computer-hacking-conspiracy

The rape accusation was dropped in Sweden.

I think he should be extradited if the US gives guarantees that he will not be subject to capital punishment in whatever state he is trialed for his crimes in accordance with the best practices of the European Court set in the following precedent: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soering_v_United_Kingdom

He's going to victimize himself but he'll probably get an amnesty or a pardon anyway so no big deal. It is important to deliver the message that justice is best served cold.

Well, there's much difference and a more difference if there are only accusations and not a trial.

https://www.tomshardware.com/news/wikileaks-founder-julian-assange-arrested,39045.html

When was the last time the US gave guarantees for a fair trial upon someone being extradited to its soil and did not deliver?

Assange reminds of the old Soviet joke: "Two cowboys, a newcomer and an old-timer, are drinking beer in front of a saloon. Suddenly, there is a clatter of hooves, a great cloud of dust, and something moving extremely fast from one end of town to the other. The newcomer looks at the old-timer, but seeing no reaction, decides to let the matter drop. However, several minutes later, the same cloud of dust, accompanied by the clatter of hooves, rapidly proceeds in the other direction. Not being able to see what's behind the dust, and unable to contain his curiosity any longer, the newcomer asks: "OK, what the hell was that, Bill?" / "Oh, that's Uncatchable Joe. Nobody has ever managed to catch him, Harry." / "Why? Is he so fast, Bill?" / "Nope, it's just because nobody needs him, Harry." ('Variant: "Nobody cares about him.")"

I'm concerned about a world where we trust leakers or hackers more than we trust governments and secret services.

Actually, my preferences are quite clear in that regard. It really horrifies me how many people are running around with such a obvious lack of knowledge that they have to resort to believe leakers, conspiracy theorists, or people with obvious criminal intentions.

Well, I can say the state is a form of society perversion where the law can cause a severe form of egosyntonic deresponsabilisation.

I'm with the law so I'm right by definition

It's a miserable way to be human.

Any machine can be "right" in that way.

The most concerning thing for me is that, these days, people just take a dump on thousands of years of socialisation, and experience in dealing with each other. And confuse freedom with the ability to do whatevre you want to do, without having to care about the others. A society needs someone to take care of people who think they can do whatever they like to, without caring about anyone else. Safety is only possible with a certain amount of monitoring. For the people who don't believe this, i'd recommend to look for a faraway island, and live in anarchy, and then see how that goes. Actually, it might even work when you have 10 people. It'll get more complicaed with 20 people. And with 100 people, it's most probably already completely impossible, unless bashing your head in over nothing is your thing.

It's sad when people with potentially infinite impunity fail to back up their words to set all matters straight by law when there are actually people dying in dictatorships or fighting agressors. Nobody is guilty for being born in second hand states, likewise as people who fight for animal rights care a little more than nothing for human rights. Time for moral clarity.

In other words why should people accused of criminal charges, living in Ecuadorean embassies and Russian asyulms teach me how to live? We're all equal. Talk the talk but do you walk the walk? Do they have the balls to do the same whistleblowing in North Korea? Now Intigam Aliev from Azerbaijan is a real hero...

It's not about being a hero (and there's no such thing as "heroship" :P or "being a hero by the book" :D ), it's about to not being blinded by the illusion (i could say "delusion") that the law is the ultimate word about being human. "Civilisation" is NOT "Society" (luckly, I dare to say).

Better to respect bad laws so that good laws are not broken.

Im sorry, but this is completely misguided. Even if it were true, and we have reasons to be skeptical about what the us gov says these people are, as they have a lot of interest in the matter, whatever a whistleblower happens to be personally has nothing whatsoever to do with the information he has exposed. The information is either true, or it is false. Every other aspect in the matter is secondary in relation to this simple fact. Now if you choose to ignore the incredible atrocities they have dennounced but feel confortable in accusing them of being vile criminals because they happened to break confidentiality laws (designed specifically to prevent the gov officials from having to answer for their crimes in office), then you see why you are perhaps misguided.

As for the burning of the witch (assange), Im glad your leaders and authority figures have made some of you feel safer by finally taking this evil, evil man out of circulation.

I like the new frob highlight but it would nice if it was less "flickery" while moving over objects (especially barred metal doors).
