No wonder the "but can it run Crysis?" Meme is still a thing, even 10 years later, IMO Crysis 1 hasn't age a bit, still looks fantastic and Cryengine 2 still makes good looking scenes, from what i've seen the modding community of Crysis do.

edit: haha has i posted this jaxa used the Meme, funny coincidence. :D

God, is it ten years already? :o

Still the best engine version from all different Cryengine versions, imho.

If anyone is interested, these are my simple&basic quality tweaks (added in Crysis root\Game\system.cfg) on top of the "Very High" preset (with Motion Blur disabled)

con_restricted=0
sys_budget_sysmem=4096
cl_crouchtoggle=1
g_ragdollMinTime=1500

Well, NEW more balanced configs for game.cfg and geometry quality/density:

1)

//Default Very High - NO CHANGES

2)

r_TexturesStreaming=1
e_lods = 1
e_detail_materials_view_dist_xy = 2048
e_detail_materials_view_dist_z = 128
e_view_dist_ratio = 100
e_view_dist_ratio_detail = 50
e_view_dist_ratio_vegetation = 100
e_vegetation_sprites_distance_ratio = 2
3)
r_TexturesStreaming=0
e_lods = 0
e_detail_materials_view_dist_xy = 4096
e_detail_materials_view_dist_z = 256
e_view_dist_ratio = 200
e_view_dist_ratio_detail = 100
e_view_dist_ratio_vegetation = 200
e_vegetation_sprites_distance_ratio = 4

High values of e_vegetation_sprites_distance_ratio can result in lighting system glitches (and it seems that is NOT simple to disable the sprites impostors for vegetation).

So the best choice is:

e_view_dist_ratio_vegetation = 100
e_vegetation_sprites_distance_ratio = 2

OR for max quality

e_view_dist_ratio_vegetation = 200
e_vegetation_sprites_distance_ratio = 4

The visual results of 3) are amazing for a 10 years old game engine :D
