NoClip Mode

It's easier to have commands like that bound to keys instead of pulling down console every time you need them. IN TDM root folder, create text file autocommands.cfg and paste this:

bind "your_key" "noclip"

That will toggle noclip on and off with each key press.

Those are great suggestions. But I'm afraid if I make it easy to use, I'd use it too much. "noclip" is innocent enough and I can use that if I get stuck and can't move out of a corner or something. But other commands (ex godmode) kinda wreck the game for me. I'd rather not be tempted. So I'll probably bind "noclip" to a keystroke and leave the others alone.

Question: the loot items that I encounter that can't be picked up.....would they be retrievable in noclip mode ??

I actually had that page already bookmarked and saved. The problem was, it didn't give instructions on how to bring down the console in order to type the commands, which prompted my inquiry. But thanks for your post, and an even bigger thanks if you were the one who created that page. Cheers.

I did not create the page, but after your post, I noticed that the instruction to call the console is not to be found on the Wiki (or at least hidden on some other entry), so I figured it would be a good addition there.

I chose your instructions on binding and it works great. I didn't try the other way offered by AluminumHaste but I'm sure it works as well.

Thanks to both of you.

You cannot receive PMs. Could you please be so kind and check your mailbox if it is full (or maybe you switched off the function)?

I like the new frob highlight but it would nice if it was less "flickery" while moving over objects (especially barred metal doors).

Well then, it's been about a week since I released my first FM and I must say that I was very pleasantly surprised by its reception. I had expected half as much interest in my short little FM as I received and even less when it came to positive feedback, but I am glad that the aspects of my mission that I put the most heart into were often the most appreciated. It was also delightful to read plenty of honest criticism and helpful feedback, as I've already been given plenty of useful pointers on improving my brushwork, level design, and gameplay difficulty.
I've gotten back into the groove of chipping away at my reading and game list, as well as the endless FM catalogue here, but I may very well try my hand at the 15th anniversary contest should it materialize. That is assuming my eyes are ready for a few more months of Dark Radiant's bright interface while burning the midnight oil, of course!
