I don't know if t3 had it, but in dx2 if any flammable item was brough into an open flame it would catch fire.

I'm doing my own bo designs as well, remember. We only need four altogether.

Which ones are going in then, and which are you doing?

For the legs, I was thinking that adding an extra joint or two -- similar to how many animals' hind legs work -- might help. Just a rough mockup of what I'm talking about:

EDIT: I don't agree with the long neck without there being some purpose for it. For instance, make the neck much shorter by default. But have it extend to peer around corners or over walls, thereby allowing it to check things out without it exposing its main body. Or something like this. Would be trippy to be going down a dark hallway toward an open room and have this thing hear you and make some noises, e.g., "I have-have hee-arr-rdd something..." from that room. It then quickly pops out its neck to see WTF is going on down the hallway. A nice cherub face would be staring at you, looking for you. Or another example: you're on a balcony, seeming away from everything, and this thing startilingly pokes its head over the edge to say Hi :) But I dunno. There would need to be joints in the neck at the head and body to allow for more versatility, IMO. I'm just not sold on the long neck yet.

Yeah, that looks great now, it really looks balanced and as if it can wal, though I wouldn't put a toe bend in the feet, it's not necessary since the ankle can rotate so much. The feet loot too much like a pair of shoes, I think they'd look cool as big metal spheres, so the ankle could be a ball and socket joint.

Take a look at the two headed bot design for Thief 2 at thief-thecircle website in the concept art section. It was intended for this very purpose. It was never actually made into a model of course.

The feet loot too much like a pair of shoes,

Hehe, I know -- it cracked me up when I got done drawing it. Looked like he was wearing Nikes ® ;) I I just wanted to be done with it. I agree the construction of the legs and feet could use some mechanized/robotic flair.

Would help with mobility to be a ball and socket joint. Not sure I'm visualizing what you mean though, as it seems you're suggesting his feet be spheres, which doesn't follow the ball/socket part.

I think a medusa like robot (2 heads) would be kinda cool. Robotic heads flailing about. And when alert, much more precise with their movement. (Not necessarily for this robot, but maybe something else we could work on later.)

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
