Looking good Atti...you haven't wasted any time. :) When they're finished and on the ftp site, let me know, so I can cross them off the list. I'd love to get that table into the game.

I could try to texture the bed. plze upload it as .obj that's easier to import for me. place it into the TheDarkMod/models/props/furniture/beds folder

 

edit: but first you should reduce the triangle-count - there's a lot, that could be done with a normalmap ;)

Great work Atti. You do realise that you're supposed to make really high res, smooth versions of these to take the notmal maps from?

I don't know how it's done in MAx, but in Lightwave I'd subpatch and freeze the model before generating the normal map.

It's better to model the high poly version first rather than the other way around though.

I have no idea if there is a normal map plugin for max or where to get it.

If you model high and low res versions of your model (they should fit over ecth other as closely as possible), then you can upload them to the FTP and I can generate a niormal map for you.

You could also use the renderbump tool in Doom 3, but I haven't been able to work that out yet.

nice - can you pleaze make a version with some books ? they just have to be one cube. the rest will be done with a normalmap. (I think I could create the normalmap for the bookshelf in PS, so you could actually upload that lowpoly model to the ftp)

Man, there are so many models flying by! I love it! So far I'm only recording when the *models* are done , not the skinning, so just let me know whatever you upload. I'm starting to lose track! :)

i dont know if its efficient to use normal maps for such simple things as these furnitures are..

Hmm, yes, but the reason they're simple s becasue you're knocking them out in 10 minutess and not modeling any detail in.

I know you're probably used to relying on textures for detail, but with normal maps you have to model the detail in a high res object.

There's no deadline to get all the furniture finished by this evening you know, so, pace yourself)

anyhow..I've uploaded them on the ftp..

they are in a rar in darkmod/models/props/furniture folder..

i will add more details to these models soon..

edit: howver i dont really know what things should i add on these..could you give me some hints?

THat only works with simple objects, which are mostly textures anyway (like the pictures frames I made)

You can't round objects out by normal mapping the textures.
