nbohr1morePressure from David Brock's Media Matters. Sean Hannity was scared shitless last night. You could see tears in his eyes. The internet is getting too close to the truth.

WannaCry Ransomware: Latest windows patch/s - http://forums.thedarkmod.com/topic/18861-wannacry-ransomware-latest-windows-patchs/
Surprisingly, Thief 5 could be happening. http://www.pcgamer.com/a-new-thief-game-might-be-in-development/
GastI bet Arkane would gladly make it, and I read that EM could outsource the dev since they are busy with two new Marvel games but I don't see Square and Bethesda working hands in hands.

Biya"It's no coincidence that two out of three Thief studios—Looking Glass and Ion Storm Austin—went under shortly after releasing them, right?" Yeah, but those games are fondly remembered by the entire gaming community, which can't exactly be said about the 4th installment. Thief would never have achieved cult status if Looking Glass/Eidos hadn't taken the risk of not appealing to a casual audience. To a strictly marketing viewpoint, creativity is a liability.

TarhielAnd I just found Czech article, where this rumor has been disproved - article is in Czech, but Twitter comment therein in English :) http://www.hrej.cz/novinky/2017/05/16/spekulace-o-novem-thiefovi-byly-vyvraceny-44422/
Thank goodness, I might add.

kanoAll this time you worry about the OS logging keystrokes, when the audio drivers are doing it (too!).

nbohr1moreI wonder what that default-on game video sharing thing in Win 10 collects? ;)

EpifirePardon my accidental status botch I somehow deleted the last post by mistake. Otherwise that's what I figured. Probably not any good way of retrieving those either.

teh_saccadeA good reason to upload and embed the images, perhaps, rather than merely link.

It may be that the articles are just really old (or now outdated) but I'd been seeing this a lot with the mover articles.
teh_saccadeMany are very out-dated, but I have archived doom3world tutorials that work in TDM through use of wayback archive (eg, https://web.archive.org/web/20121013012243/http://www.doom3world.org:80/phpbb2/viewforum.php?f=1). This is my primary resource for scripting and using movers / nurbs / etc...
It might be worth taking a full snapshot of TDM wiki using wayback machine, as deep as it will go - if it wasn't for 2012 doom3world snapshots, much information on these subjects would be...

Is there a more sure fire way to combat images disappearing from the wiki articles? Feels like most that are older than two years have all broken links.
nbohr1moreOuch. We host images locally but some wikis are created using images externally hosted. Example article?

So, it actually pays off to design your upper modular section from the roof :)
Finally got my Bachelor's degree (: Still feels kinda surreal tbh...

Oh... This explains a lot what is happening in our world right now. It all makes sense now. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunning-Kruger_effect
AndersonIt's only aggravated by our unhealthy postmodernist swings in society. Lots of people need help.

teh_saccadeSotha's comment re: cricism.
This is something I try to do in all things - students will better respond to "deconstructive" critique if it is followed by "constructive" critique of their work.
A compliment must always have some kind of back-hander, as people are unused to receiving positive criticism - in some cases, unable to receive it due to the disparity between themselves and the standard of their work.
A kind word (preferably action)...
May 10 2017 10:16 AM
teh_saccade...can make all the difference.
It starts with this.
Other people judge and qualify me (eg, I am not an artist, unless I am doing it and people say that I am).
I am not qualified to judge myself or others - only a person's work.
Critiquing the work depersonalises the issue and thereby affects condifence in other ways, without affecting psyche.
I agree - praise the work, not the person.

https://www.theregister.co.uk/2017/05/01/intel_amt_me_vulnerability/ Remember when people were saying that this sort of stuff would happen? I do!
May 02 2017 10:10 AM
BikerdudeBut HOW has it been patched? directly in the chip firmware or some driver in the OS..?
May 03 2017 02:09 PM
kanoFrom what I understand, you'll need a new version of BIOS/UEFI. And that's if the manufacturer of your motherboard feels like providing one. (Just because Intel provides patches doesn't mean that vendors will pass them on.) And BTW: https://www.theregister.co.uk/2017/05/05/intel_amt_remote_exploit/
Supposedly this only poses a serious threat to enterprise users, for now. But what scares me, is how long before we are all at risk.

stgatilov"The entire network is trained in an end-to-end fashion on a large dataset composed of locomotion such as walking, running, jumping, and climbing movements fitted into virtual environments". I suppose recording the training set was a tremendous task =)
