How can we get a copy of the KOMAG fan mission archive for the Thief series? Could someone set it up on Mega or something? I think they provide 50GB for free, which is quite high, surely high enough.

Just moved in to my new place and I have REAL internet. I feel alive.
jaxaYou're not alive until you get an Internet microchip in your head.

SothaSometimes I wish a geomagnetic disaster would disable all electronics and we could get back to simpler times... And then I snap out of it and am content I do not need to shoot flares at wolves at every turn.

CarltonTroisi → Mollyness
Welcome, Mollyness! You seem to have some voice-acting talent. How did you get this good?
MollynessThanks so much! I am actually just trying to establish myself as a voice actor so practice makes perfect :)

CarltonTroisiThe life of an artist can be tough--and believe me, I know--but I wish you good luck. As long as you're passionate and willing to put in the time, you'll get there. :)

:( I can't compile SVN sources. :( Again :( I think it might be Microsoft's fault...
cabalisticI found that two files were missing from the Visual Studio solution. Have you ever considered a unified build system like CMake?
Aug 16 2017 03:02 AM
nbohr1moreIt was discussed. We agreed it was a good way forward but whoever merged the changes would need to document all the setup and compile details so it would be seamless for those who do not fiddle with compile infrastructure. Then it was never implemented. We are in a better position now since we already have Dhewm changes in source.

nbohr1moreTHANK YOU to whomever fixed the SVN trunk!

I wish we had more of small bite-size FMs. I realized I don't have time to play grand multihour missions anymore... But nice 0.5-1h (1h max!) missions would fit perfectly to my evening schedule.
SpringheelIt depends on how often you get to play. Too many days in between and I'll forget all the significant story clues and locations.

AtomicaI imagine a lot of us are older/oldish gamers with more responsibilities than we used to have, meaning less free time. I ranted about this in the quest thread, but still, I'm a big believer in quality rather than quantity. Can be great if we have both (and the time), but I'd rather smaller games that pack in a lot of good shit than have it spread out with a lot of filler. Portal comes to mind.

demagogueOne thing I like about contest FMs, especially ones with tight space restrictions, is that it focuses authors to package a lot of gameplay in a little space. There's a kind of special art to it that makes them unique and fun to play. It might be good for authors to give themselves those kind of restrictions for a normal FM even without the contest.

When I was a kid, you could leave batteries in something for six months and not find them completely dead. The opsession with making everything digital, including power buttons, has resulted in everything drawing phantom current, even when the thing is supposed to be off. Compare this to a mechanical flashlight, or old-school Gameboy, and you can understand what I mean.
GameDevGoroAnalog mechanics rule. Digital stuff is ok. Always-on digital sttuff is crap. IOT smart devices is the devil and should burn in a pit of molten tungsten.
Aug 15 2017 01:04 PM
AtomicaCurrent IoT gear is crap because the manufacturer's don't care about security and robustness. Recently there was a story of some smart locks getting bricked because the vendor pushed a firmware update for a particular model onto the wrong model of lock. The locks didn't even have the ability to detect that the firmware wasn't going to work, they just accepted whatever firmware came their way. Such a lack of foresight.
Aug 15 2017 11:11 PM
GameDevGoroYeah, aside from issues like botnets and unlawful surveillance and other gaping security holes. My mind wanders to issues with cheap stuff that's designed to be replaced in quick succession with newer products. Electronic waste from things that had no business having it, like toothbrushes and underwear! :D Some smart devices are just no-exception useless and fall under the category of a party gift or something. And inevitably gets tossed in the bin right quick. :P

SuaveSteve → grayman
Hey, grayman! Are those re-releases of WS 1-3 still on the way? :)
graymanThey won't be available for a while. I'm working on WS 4, 5, and 8 atm.

Could somebody take a look at tdm-downloadmirror yourvserver.net? its down, and the updater chooses this mirror always first. But If you wait some seconds, the updater chooses another mirror. But the updater stucks at updating and this is very annoying.
AluminumHasteI had this last night also.
Aug 08 2017 02:16 PM
Has anybody had much luck not having random graphical glitches occur while using, mirrorRenderMap? Besides referencing the player position it just doesn't like to actually reference surrounding scenes correctly.
Updated all TDM'S installation instructions on our wiki

This music would be *so* perfect for TDM. It just screams TDM-ish atmosphere. https://youtu.be/Ig9LE0Vp1YM?t=962 (starts at 16.02) Too bad we don't know who made it!
kanoImagine sneaking around and listening to that!

Nice shot, no cigar.
Got a Ryzen 1700 today. Damn, is the box big! I was used to the older CPUs like Phenom II that came in pretty small boxes. This is actually a lower power consumption part, but I hear that they threw in a nice (larger than necessary) cooler, so that must be why.
stgatilovGood luck getting it to work! =) Especially if you are going to use high-speed RAM...
Jul 30 2017 02:55 AM
Bikerdude@Kano, nice. Your multi-core perf will be monster, but single thread not so much. What CPU did you upgrade from..?
@stgatilov, motherboard bios's are mature enough now to alleviate this issue for the most part.
Jul 30 2017 07:17 AM
kanoIt is an upgrade from Phenom II 1100t.
