Darkradiant crashes.

Mentioned this in another thread, but it's getting worse and I have at least a little more information now. I'm noticing sporadic crashing out of the program entirely. Prior to today, this mostly happened when I tried to load a new map from already having one loaded. (Never from the blank start, always when I already had a map loaded and switched to another.) Today, I've seen it crash when I tried to start a new map, and oddly enough sometimes when I click 'undo.' Checked my logs, there's nothing in darkradiant.log that I can see, but /var/log/messages has an entry from kernel referencing darkradiant complaining about a general protection ip: <some of what looks like hex addresses> error:0 in undo.so[more hex.]

I'll give my usual disclaimers.... my system would make Dr. Frankenstein scratch his head and say 'Mein Herr, zat's messed oop...' so it could be just me, has anyone else seen anything like this? I'm running the current version from the repository, Ubuntu Karmic amd64.

If you're on Linux it should be very easy to run DarkRadiant in a debugger, to get a stacktrace.

From the terminal, run

$ gdb /usr/bin/darkradiant

then at the (gdb) command prompt enter "run". If the application subsequently crashes, go back to the (gdb) terminal and enter "bt" to get a stacktrace.

      Finally got my PC back from the shop after my SSD got corrupted a week ago and damaged my motherboard. Scary stuff, but thank goodness it happened right after two months of FM development instead of wiping all my work before I could release it. New SSD, repaired Motherboard and BIOS, and we're ready to start working on my second FM with some added version control in the cloud just to be safe!

      I've updated the articles for your FMs and your author category at the wiki. Your newer nickname (DeTeEff) now comes first, and the one in parentheses is your older nickname (Fieldmedic). Just to avoid confusing people who played your FMs years ago and remember your older nickname. I've added a wiki article for your latest FM, Who Watches the Watcher?, as part of my current updating efforts. Unless I overlooked something, you have five different FMs so far.

      I've finally managed to log in to The Dark Mod Wiki. I'm back in the saddle and before the holidays start in full, I'll be adding a few new FM articles and doing other updates. Written in Stone is already done.

      You cannot receive PMs. Could you please be so kind and check your mailbox if it is full (or maybe you switched off the function)?
