Well, there is an idea -- breaking boundaries. But sometimes you may end up going too far too quickly.

Your mission had a lot to it that I'll bet a lot of people didn't get a chance to see.

You took away the darkness, fine. That's going to make things very different and very difficult.

But, on top of that you placed a limit on knockouts (never good, IMO, but worse especially across the board on all difficulty levels; not with kills or knockouts, but, again, especially with knockouts).

Too far. Too much. Too hard. Too frustrating. Too bad... because as I said there is much beyond the frustration... I mean, for instance, your friend's work -- all the backstory and such (which, btw, had some serious incongruity in the dates) -- is obscured by the impossible impassible gameplay.

I friggin' know this but only because I "hacked" the 2KOs objective into an optional mode.

So...

I presume that something like 11:55PM Pacific Time will be the cut-off unless earlier is fine with the participants?

I am not sure how much time I'll have today or this evening to run the numbers and such but I can just arbitrarily grab what's there and calculate that...

Any preferences?

Example calculations:

Reap as you Sow:

Season is clear = 9 votes (24.32%)

Season is captured well = 17 votes (45.95%)

Near Perfect = 11 votes (29.73%)

Average score (out of 5) = 3.054

Gameplay Enjoyment

Two Stars = 9 votes (24.32%)

Three Stars = (16 votes [43.24%])

Four Stars = (9 votes [24.32%])

Five Stars = (3 votes [8.11%])

Average score (out of 5) = 3.162

Aesthetics and Story

Two stars = (2 votes [5.41%])

Three Stars = (10 votes [27.03%])

Four Stars = (17 votes [45.95%])

Five Stars = (8 votes [21.62%])

Average score (out of 5) = 3.838

Raw average = 3.351 (out of 5)

Average with Gameplay weighted 2x = 3.304 (out of 5)

How as game-play supposed to be weighted\biased again?

I suppose that is up to the contest manager to dictate. I think last time gameplay was appreciated over other qualities. Not sure how much, though..

It is a delicate decision, because it will change the winner. As a contest FMA I cannot give any recommendations in any direction.

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
