Suggestions Pls

Anything you guys would like to see from us on the PR side of things (this isn't a mod feature discussion, mmk?), or to make these public forums better, more exciting, a public IRC channel, anything?

 

We're a touchy-feely mod team, we want our fans and critics to be treated well. :lol:

 

Seriously though, don't suffer in silence!!!! <_<

Well, I liked the number given in the last interview, Pakmannen saying the audio was "18.3% done". Could you present that information somewhere, for that and the other areas, updated occasionally?

 

Also, why not have all the various screenshots put on your site, instead of scattered across multiple sites and interviews as they are now?

I see a total of 10 screenshots on the Dark Mod screenshot page. In fact, some that were there before seem to have been removed. This does not include any of the newer screenshots of the city or house interior showing the bow or the blackjack, nor the Keeper model. There are also several images on http://www.thief-thecircle.com/darkmod that are not on the Dark Mod site.

We wanted to release some exclusive screenshots for the interview. They will be added to our site in a few days. Our site is also going to undergo a facelift shortly, which is why there have been no updates for a while.

That would explain the weapon, then. But won't it cause some confusion if they dress similarly to the Keepers? Or will your Keepers not look like monks?

They don't look anything like keepers, unless you're suggesting that any humanoid in a robe looks like a keeper.

As for percentages, all you need to know is that the chances of you playing the Dark Mod until 2006 are about 3%.

We don't have keepers. Some aspects of the universe we're creating will look familiar in an alternate universe kind of way, while others will not. We're looking to recapture the atmosphere and gameplay mechanics of the earlier games. Though this has no impact on the toolset, if someone wants to make one of our characters a keeper like being they will definately do so. :)

In the context of the Thief games, how is that difficult to see? The only characters I've seen in Thief wearing monk cowls have been Keepers.

 

I'm aware that development is scheduled to take a year. I like the numbers nevertheless. (Thank you, Pakmannen!) I certainly hope the others don't plan to hold back progress reports until 2006. Isn't this thread for suggestions?

It's easier to document some departments over others. Depends on the content...but we'll try to come up with sometime without taking too much time from development. :)

Works for me, NH.

 

As for the cowls, they looked like it to me, the green hooded tunic outfits from Thief 1 and 2. The cutscenes being mainly silhouettes didn't help in that regard. Ah well.

Lol, Pakmanen just made that number up on the spot as a joke.

You are wrong. Pak created a list of efforts in the project management tools and updated it regulrarly. So the number is not a joke, it reflects the actual amount of progress for the sound department.

 

Coding is currently at 23.8%. The number should be considered with a bit of grain, because it is a very rough estimation.

 

Unfortunately Springheel doesn't want to use this tool, so we have no progress on the models.
