wow, just found this site. and let me tell you by tho's screen shots i have to say guys. holy sh!t. this game will be everything i wanted in thief 3. classic looking glass style of game play and handoling. 1st person and all i hope. this will be great. do not give up on this mod. or let it fade away, im learning the thief 3 editor as soon as i get my new card, then ill check out the doom3 editor. maybe i can lend a hand in map design. i have played thief since it came out. i was in like 5th grade lol. best game of all time and fravorit is still thief gold. and i know how the maps should look to be athentic to the classic. im realy hoping some one remakes thief 1 and 2 in the thief 3 engine. that would rule. a buddy and mine are planing such a thing as we speak so it may happen!

Really glad you enjoyed what you have seen so far. We're still early in development but we've been very fortunate to have a talented and dedicated team who will work all hours to get something right. :)

If you have any mapping samples, drop me a line at recruiting@thedarkmod.com.

If you are into texturing, we have positions available there as well.

I was actually planing on doing it in the Dark Mod (of course avoiding copywright issues, ie: Lord Bifford's Manor instead of Lord Bafford, etc)

But I would like to see the T1 and 2 missions remade also :)

Good luck on that :) ,

That would be an interesting challenge. I wonder if the TDS editor has any inherent level size limitations. There's no way you could redo the previous thief games and come out with missions as small as those in TDS (unless you came up with good places to insert loading zones), but perhaps if you're not targeting the maps for the XBox then you may have fewer restrictions.

Ive very slowly been trying to learn radient by rebuilding Biffords  I could use it years ago but after using 3dmax and teseditor for years Ive forgotten everything. The hardest thing Ive found is getting the distances right. Well that and it looks really odd with the doom3 textures.

Oh and in case anyone is interested, not the team obviously but those like me who are learning www.3dbuzz.com has some great Video training movies for doom3

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
