A little Neogaf forum discussion:

http://www.neogaf.co...d.php?t=1042624

It sorta counts as news since this forum is like an exclusive club of sorts and Neogaf posts become news stories on a regular basis.

An article titled "Top 5 Best Linux Games List 2015" features TheDarkMod as its #1 entry. I accidentally found this last night while searching for Doom 3 / TDM related stuff, and thought it could go here. While things like this do TDM some justice, I feel there should be much more talk about a FOSS game as awesome as this.

"I really perceive that vanity about which most men merely prate — the vanity of the human or temporal life. I live continually in a reverie of the future. I have no faith in human perfectibility. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active — not more happy — nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago. The result will never vary — and to suppose that it will, is to suppose that the foregone man has lived in vain — that the foregone time is but the rudiment of the future — that the myriads who have perished have not been upon equal footing with ourselves — nor are we with our posterity. I cannot agree to lose sight of man the individual, in man the mass."...

It's not a bad screenshot.

Of course not, but every single article about TDM seems to be using the same exact image (from years and years ago). :)

The screen is from Return to the City

???

(Unless you're referring to a different screen?)

TDM is so sneaky that screencapture function steals framebuffer from other games :v

Anyone have a login there?  Would be nice to mention that there is a menu setting that provides the T2 lockpicking experience.

Seeing as how I took that screenshot, I can assure you it is TDM.

There are a bunch of incorrect screenshots -

  • The screenshot for Thief's Den is actually from Return to the City
  • The screenshot for Thomas Porter 3: Glenham Tower is actually from the William Steel Series

Nonetheless, it is great to see fan missions receive recognition! :)
