Where did your FM take place?

My FM, Patently Dangerous, was set in the start of the northern posh Hightowne area of Bridgeport.

What do you see when you turn out the light? I can't tell you but I know that it's mine.

My campaign is set in a location quite far away from Bridgeport in a rather big city right next to the ocean. Bridgeport is mentioned via readables however.

I think all most of my mission briefings mention the general location.

Simply out of (bad) memory:

Mandrasola - Bridgeport harbor/waterfront

Knighton - A manor in the just in the outskirts of Bridgeport. The big city in the skybox is bridgeport.

Beleaguered Fence - somewhere in Bridgeport. I suppose they have multiple prison/brigs in there.

Glenham Tower - moors out side from Glenham.

Transaction - Glenham

Phrase Book - Bridgeport, a rich and old area, prolly Old Quarter.

Lich Queens Demise - in the mountains near Glenham.

Clipper

-The mapper's best friend.

I wanted to be sure to not break the immersion of the player, so didn't specify. "Window of Opportunity" takes place in a mountain range between where the previous FM the player played, and the next are located. "Inn Business" in any city large enough to have a wall and more than one inn, if the player previously played a mission in a city, that one. if not, then the city of the next they play. If none of those jive. then a city between previous/next. Whatever helps the player feel immersed, rather than dictated to in conflict with their personal experience and journey.

My current mission will be in and around Briarwood. It's located near Bridgeport which is also in a readable. That is, if I can get my mission off the ground. I am working diligently however; and hopefully it will come to pass....

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
