As this just comes up. Is it actually possible to let ai sleep in a sitting position?

Yes, this would be handy for guards and the like.

That was an aspect I liked very much in the new thief. You have to look very carefully to make sure a guard is sleeping. It's not as obvious as one laying down somewhere.

All we need it for thier eyes to be close and to be making sleeping/snoring noises.]

But can I apply this to ather AI?

Bump.

I don't think that would look very convincing, sitting straight up with their heads looking forward. You'd at least want the head slumped down.

But can I apply this to ather AI?

Yes.

Maybe Arcturus or Sotha would be happy to provide this. Don't know how much time effort is needed for this, though, as I did not yet learned to do this.

Sitting sleeping AI would be a nice addition, would probably be used by mappers too as it opens up some new interesting possible scenarios.

"My milkshake bringeth all ye gentlefolk to the yard. Verily 'tis better than thine, I would teach thee, but I must levy a fee."

"When Kleiner showed me the sky-line of New York I told him that man is like the coral insect—designed to build vast, beautiful, mineral things for the moon to delight in after he is dead."

Not sure about the crossed arms... I know that's how people often do it in real life, but it doesn't look very natural in that pose (it's like they're hugging themselves very tightly rather than being relaxed). I know it's hard to make that pose with our rig, so I wonder if a looser pose would be better (and easier), with the arms at the sides with the hands in their lap?

Or maybe this is a better (classic) image. Why guards shouldn't get chairs. :)

Turns out there are a lot of "guard sleeping on the job" images:

Maybe ecause it is one of the most boring jobs on earth :P

I agree with Springs about the pose, it should look more relaxed.

That looks more like seriously-depressed than sleeping-on-duty.

Are you planning on adding a breathing cycle, like the regular sleep animation?

Much better, I suppose the effect will much more beleiveable when thier eyes are closed and they are making sleeping noises. And +1 on the breathing cycle..
