Ai sitting in mid-air: how do I fix this

Got the following ai path -

 

path_corner(facing east) > path_sit (facing east), path_corner targets the path_sit. The Ai dosent face the right way when sitting or sometimes he will sit in mid-air someway back on his patrol.

 

Can someone remind me how the **** I fix this please.

 

ta.

 

nb. On a less dramatic note, whats the arg to stop an Ai from opening a door - in this instance its the door on the stove that the Ai insists on opening and then forgetting to close.

Path_corner facing is irrelevant.

 

Path_sit may have a facing arrow in DR view, but does it have the angle spawnarg? If no angle is defined, the AI won't turn, I think. This is why path_wait can be used as RIT nodes: the AI doesn't turn.

Facing East means the angle is zero. Howevr, if you have set it (what you have to) and moved the entity afterwards, DR will remove the spawnarg. Having angle not set and set to zero makes the difference. If the value is not set, ai just sits down facing the direction it had when reaching the path_corner.

 

To avoid this you can try setting angle to 1 for example. Players won't notice the difference.

 

If the ai plays teh anim at the wrong position, then this is most definetely caused by some monsterclip too close to the position of the path_corner (path_sit's placement is irrelevant).

      Finally got my PC back from the shop after my SSD got corrupted a week ago and damaged my motherboard. Scary stuff, but thank goodness it happened right after two months of FM development instead of wiping all my work before I could release it. New SSD, repaired Motherboard and BIOS, and we're ready to start working on my second FM with some added version control in the cloud just to be safe!
