I don't think a few scam apps are proof that it doesn't work as a whole. Once again, as so often, the user himself is the biggest security leak. It's simply stupid to install gazllions of apps you never heard of. Or completely disregarding the ratings. Why does it have to bother me that there's a few scam apps, which get sorted out when it is getting known that it's scam btw, when 99% of the stuff in the store is legit? Think you're trying to find the fly in the ointment a bit here.

 

The suggestion to use Linux seems a little funny too with all the major distribution getting more and more commercial now too btw. Ubuntu will come with a large store when they merged desktop and mobile OS. They all hop on board of the store train now, it's obvious that it's the best (and only) way to make money really. And for me that's fair enough. In the end, i as a consumer profit from the product if the company behind it is healthy.
