Bug in thief's den 3 - unable to pick on more key...

Hello,

 

While playing TD3, I have come to a point where if i pick any key, the game crash... I was thinking the bug was limiting how many I can carry but even if I select one from my inventory to try dropping her, the game crash.

 

I have search on the forum without success... Did anyone already get this bug ?

I'm playing on an asus laptop :

 

- core i7-4700HQ @ 2.40GHz

- 4 Go RAM

- GeForce GT 740M

 

I've done some more test an I really don't understand...

 

As I was stuck, I've choose to play another map (the outpost, a quick one, no problem, no crash) and after that I come back to "TD3 heart of lone salvation" and as my savegames where still bugged, I have restart the whole fm on easiest difficulty just to try ending it once (and quickly).

 

And I got the bug again ! But this time, he don't come with keys, but with maps or lockpicks ! So it's not a key bug... More an inventory one...

 

But witch was ever more disturbing, is the fact that I got two quick saves, the first one before I have lockpick a chest, and the second, right after. So when the game have crash, I've test the first savegame, thinking she must be good as I've use my lockpicks just after this moment... And she is bugged too :blink:.

 

It have make me feels that the bug have corrupted some fm's relative file. So I have uninstall the fm, backup my savegames folder, clean the fm with the TDM menu, reinstall the fm, start a fresh game and test if I was able to pick / use my locpicks and maps, everything was ok ! So I have restored my savegames folder again, load my first savegame (the one before I open the chest) and the game crash again when I took my lockpicks !!! :o

 

Is there a way to get game logs or anything which could help ? I can upload my savegames too if someone want to try reproducing the crash...

Thanks for the advice, I have check this and try launching the game "as administrator" too. Doesn't change anything.

Crucible of Omens: Behind Closed Doors and PD3: Erasing the Trail are both larger.

 

Please post your Darkmod.cfg and the console output from: condump baseline.txt so we can see what startup errors you might be having before

starting the mission.

 

Older TDM versions had a lock script that was bugged. It was notorious for causing similar problems in "The Alchemist".

Hmm. Is your GT740 video driver up-to-date?

 

It should support these extensions:

 

X - GL_NV_register_combiners not found
X - EXT_depth_bounds_test not found

 

You might also see this if the game is using your Intel on-die GPU rather than the Nvidia GT740.

(Which can also be a sign of broken drivers, such as Optimus drivers.)

 

To ensure the right amount of Video RAM is set:

 

seta com_videoRam "1024"

 

You may also consider increasing the "Lightgem Interleave" value to 2 or 3 for a nice performance boost:

 

seta tdm_lg_interleave "2"

Yop,

 

I have finish "Crucible of Omens: Behind Closed Doors" yesterday. It took me a while as she's a big one ! But I haven't suffered any crash... ;)

 

I'll check my drivers and those parameters but actually I want to start mapping a little as I got a quite precise idea of what my first map could be... So I'll come here later if I got some news about this bug.

      Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?
