Couple of questions

Hello folks, i check the forum from time to time and decided i wanted to ask some of the people here a couple of questions. I noticed that some maps act in a weird way, maybe they're not updated? Can only the makers of the map update it or the dev team of TDM? Also were there any info about total loot of said maps anywhere? Last but not least how's the devolopment of the mod going? I haven't played TDM in Months, were there any plans to make a voice option and music option like i read somewhere on the forum? Thanks in advance take care

Anyone can update a map, though it's usually left up to the map maker. However, if you know something is wrong you can fix it on your own by opening the PK4 file (it's a regular zip file).

 

Also were there any info about total loot of said maps anywhere?

If the map authors make one or a fan did, it will be in the forum thread for that map release.

 

Last but not least how's the devolopment of the mod going?

It's going well, and continually being worked on, a new version is "close" to being released. (At the top of this forum is a sticky of the new beta http://forums.thedarkmod.com/topic/19162-beta-testing-206/)

Not sure what you mean with this one sorry.

I always assumed I'd taste like boot leather.

@AluminumHaste as maps i barely remember two weird behavior of maps, like the one halloween map where you're invited as a guest and it turns out everybody is killed and there are ghost roamings around, the other being a manor on the mountains with weird door not being able to open if faced normally, (good luck remember them i'll have to download the map and check eventually). As the option i mentioned, i meant that the voices of npc can be lowered or put higher within the master volume sound, weren't there any plan to have an option itself to raise the volume of npc voices without having to use the master volume or ambient sound?

Yeah that's why i asked, but thank you! Last but not least nobody tried to make a map which has those marine creatures from Thief deadly shadows? I remember something vague about that level and those creature, and wanted to ask if anybody tried to replicate that here, Thanks!

      Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

      I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
      Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

      Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

      Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
