In previous TDM versions, if you used image_downSize to degrade your texture resolution it would result in distorting the
Post-Process bloom image and (depending on how low you went) could make the render completely black.

In 2.06 you can do this!

I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active — not more happy — nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago. The result will never vary — and to suppose that it will, is to suppose that the foregone man has lived in vain — that the foregone time is but the rudiment of the future — that the myriads who have perished have not been upon equal footing with ourselves — nor are we with our posterity. I cannot agree to lose sight of man the individual, in man the mass."...

I think these settings helped but I don't have the graphics you posted in your screens.

Ah, you mean that you can combine lowest downsize and have good shadows and post processing.

On my system I guess I'm looking only for downsize respectively.

Hmm, actually setting the shadows quality to below low would result in more banding and compliment the look I'll bet...

At the moment I can confirm that just setting downsize helps the performance a lot.

Though I still have like 15-20 FPS in heavy fire particles/multiple light sources such as the chapel in Volta II Cauldron.

Also, wondering if resolution does anything to help the possibility of reading anything because everything is too pixelated to be readeable.

But, very cool finding!

I accidentally included image_forcedownsize 1. Set that back to 0 and most readables should be workable.

Ah ok. I just tried it as you said and reduced downsize limit to 150 to make things readable.

Because otherwise it isn't playable.

You mean you want to turn shadow quality off completely?

Here's what I have with forcedownsize 1

Thank you, I'm very satisfied that these settings removes any stuttering I had.

Very playable and readable.

Is it an opportune moment to document the tweaks into the wiki?

I love this. It just works so well. Think I'll make some Dark Mod time just to try it out.

Why do you write to include these settings concurrently?

I am asking because most people using such settings with downsizing textures would also minimize all other settings as well.

Being angry is bad for the heart.

It is for the retro gamers - makes TDM look more like the originals. :P

We can also safely assume that Color Bit 16 is also quite playable.
