This is my the third trap video, and probably the last one for a while. It shows how to make flame jet traps, as well as how to stagger multiple jets in a pattern, and how to set up the possibility to disable them.
The one weakness of this setup is that the player can potentially run or jump through a jet without taking any damage if they can do it in under .5 seconds. Using a trigger_hurt instead of a damage stim would solve that problem, but the issue with trigger_hurts is that they don't (for some reason) affect AI who aren't moving. So an AI could stand in the fire without taking any damage at all if they stood still. I'm hoping that might be fixed in the future, but until it is, trigger_hurt is unusable against AI. Still, if you're making this trap in areas AI can't go to, a trigger_hurt would be a better option.
