Using PlayOnMac, the installation seems to go well, but I get the following error.

[08/25/18 15:28:04] - Running wine-1.7.16 TheDarkMod.exe (Working directory : /Users/mike/Library/PlayOnMac/wineprefix/TheDarkMod/drive_c/games/thedarkmod)

err:module:LdrInitializeThunk Main exe initialization for L"C:\\games\\thedarkmod\\TheDarkMod.exe" failed, status c0000135

Seems I am missing some files, but any attempt to copy them into the appropriate directories still fails.
Any ideas out there from Mac users?

You have TDM "installed" in your container, but you need also to install some Visual C++ files in that container.

If you want to install TDM on playonmac properly, select "the darkmod" from playonmac aplications list (games category).
(after you selected checkboxes "testing" and "no-cd" in the applications games list)
Follow the steps: http://wiki.thedarkmod.com/index.php?title=Installer_and_Manual_Installation#Installing_TDM_on_Linux.2FMac_OS.2C_using_PlayonMac.2FPlayonLinux
After this installation, Visual C++ Redistributable have to installed separately on the "tdm updater" or "The dark mod" container. (see note)
(i have updated the wiki article with this info above.)

Remember that playonmac is not a native way, to run tdm 2.06 on your mac.
(this means tdm can play slow, gamesystem problems, etc)

I leave you with this solution, because there is no native 2.06 build for the mac.

For more info, read the article on our wiki:
http://wiki.thedarkmod.com/index.php?title=Installer_and_Manual_Installation#Installing_TDM_on_Mac_OS

Note:
The vcredist, downloaded by the updater, doesnt do anything on playonmac wine environment.

It runs, but does nothing.

So you have to install "vcrun2010" component, but i dont know if the tdm binaries accepts that. (cant test this because im on a vm)

Start playonmac/playonlinux > click on playonmac/playonlinux container of "The dark mod" or "The dark mod updater" > left side column, click on "configure" > select tab "install components" > select "vcrun2010" (or something like that) > install.

Detected some problems after installing the vc components msvc or vcrun 2013 on playonmac. updater crashes.

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
