Frictional Games is working on 2 Secret Games

Frictional Games has stated in recent Facebook posts that they are working on 2 secret projects. They say they've left hints of what they are in some posts, but I couldn't find them. As the Amnesia and Penumbra games have similar sneaking and controls as the original Thief games and Dark Mod, I feel happy to know they're working on another game. Do any of you have any hopes or guesses for what they might be working on?

That to me at least is not new news. they have announced that were working in two games, after they released Soma and that was years ago, so by now they must be almost finishing their new games. What they are, I don't know but I would assume that one, is a new horror game and the other, is something totally new, why, because I know they are intelligent people and they certainly know that making the same type of games, will not make their company evolve, so making two games could give them the opportunity to diversify. But I could be totally wrong and both are totally new genres or both are horror games, let's wait and see.

As others have said, this is fairly old news. They announced two new games in development shortly after publishing SOMA. A long-term goal was improving outdoor environments, so we might get that in at least one of the new games. This is also the first time in their history when they're working on two games at once.

As a fan of almost 12 years, virtually since their start as a studio, I'm looking forward to both titles, especially if they bring something creative to the table. I'd love if the'd branch out slightly into related genres, though not too far away from the survival horror they've focused on so far. They're experts at it, so I still expect a primary focus on horror games.

I would really like to see what Frictional Games could accomplish with horror in VR. Not only is the immersion of VR great for horror (it's almost too good at it--Alien Isolation with the MotherVR mod is very stressful) but Frictional Games has always liked fine grained environmental interaction and motion controllers are great for that. Doubt they're actually working on anything VR related but they did mention that they were "looking into" the medium in 2017. That was at the height of the VR hype bubble though.

I want to see what sorts of mind games they could play on us with eyetracking enabled saccade detection.

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
