Adding a weather filter

fidcal wrote a new weather filter. Since I think this is usefull, I added it to

 

install/games/doom.game

 

and I think this should be commited so it gets into the next release.

Agreed, I'll add this one to the default filters. :)

 

Heh, don't you have more important things to do? I mean, if every time I have an idea, somebody of the whizzbang-coders does it, while I twiddle my thumbs, we never get a release :D

It's a copy-paste job that takes like 2 seconds. Don't stress over it. :)

 

The time-eating tasks are things like implementing entire new features and fixing bugs.

My games | Public Service Announcement: TDM is not set in the Thief universe. The city in which it takes place is not the City from Thief. The player character is not called Garrett. Any person who contradicts these facts will be subjected to disapproving stares.

I was thinking yesterday another useful filter would hide all the invisible elements like path_corners, player start, triggers, monsterclip, etc. and the like as I can hardly see through the jungle - but I haven't had time to look at it yet. If I filter all entities then it's often too much. I'll get round to it one day. :)

A couple of other thoughts while i've got my filter cap on. Add nodraw to that above list of course but a new texture would be handy copied from nodraw with slightly different editor image called nodraw2 or something for use on Visportals. The visportal filter necessarily also hides nodraw. An alternate nodraw would solve that. It wouldn't help current maps but in the future could.

 

Also there is at least one texture uses the nodraw editor image - I think it's the rainsplash That could use a new editor texture.

 

I often wish these invisibles could be very transparent in DR but I don't think that's possible or if it was would probably slow it down. :)

Yes, but my point was: I am up for the 2-second C&P jobs because they are easy and I can find my way around and learn. I am not yet up for the "implement a new feature" yet :)

Well, technically there are lots of other things to do for me, but I usually try to smash the small tasks along the way, otherwise I tend to forget about them soon. ;)

      Finally got my PC back from the shop after my SSD got corrupted a week ago and damaged my motherboard. Scary stuff, but thank goodness it happened right after two months of FM development instead of wiping all my work before I could release it. New SSD, repaired Motherboard and BIOS, and we're ready to start working on my second FM with some added version control in the cloud just to be safe!

Just to avoid confusing people who played your FMs years ago and remember your older nickname. I've added a wiki article for your latest FM, Who Watches the Watcher?, as part of my current updating efforts. Unless I overlooked something, you have five different FMs so far.
