edit: lots of theese horror maps usually needs custom scripts.

im a big forum parasite when it comes to scripting so anyone knows where i can get help with the d3 scripting?

There are some threads about level scripting in the level editing section, use those. Fidcal is working on a beginners guide to scripting, but it's still wip I think. Besides these I learned most about d3 scripting from tutorials on doom3world and modwiki.

Don't feel too bad. I've had to abandon some projects before, and so have others. Its a way of learning the hard way, but you'll become a better mapper through it :)

but when im finish with a map, what do i do with it?

im gonna make this one with tdm assets so i cant put it here =D

When you're finished, you can pack it up and get it ready for a release.

It looks like the shadow ring is being caused by the light source being inside the handle of the torch instead of in the flame. if it was in the flame, then it would cast a shadow including the body of the torch and wouldn't show the ring, it would just be dark below the torch.
