Get the latest DarkRadiant version 0.9.10 here:

Important: be sure to install the VC++ 2008 Redistributable Package in order to run this release.

I installed this on windows 7 beta and I get this

No grid, no camera. I can still place things, just can't see what I'm doing. Those black rectangles are artifacts on the screen when I dragged it over to my other monitor.

 

I installed the VC++ 2008 Redistributable Package and updated my gpu drivers, but still nothing. I tried compatibility modes, nothing.

 

If you need more info I'll try my best to relay it to you.

 

My specs:

Q6600 quad 2.4

8800 GT

4 gig ram

Windows 7 BETA

 

I'm going to disable aero and see if that does anything. Nope. Was worth a shot <_<

Did DarkRadiant 0.9.9 or 0.9.8 work in Windows 7?

I think its a problem with my desktop. Because my laptop also has win 7 beta and it runs DR perfectly. But I did the upgrade from vista which is a seamless transition basically and I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

 

I'll give it a test anyway and see what happens.

Probably an OpenGL problem then, I suppose. What does the Help > About dialog say about the OpenGL extensions available?

Bug I've not seen before. I think it was OK in the very recent DR internal test before this. Click Filters on prefab import dialog to show filters list. Click any filter and most of the filters check. Sometimes all, sometimes a few at random not checked. Shall I track it?

This is interesting. Came back after lunch, relaunched DR and now it seemed OK. But then I realized I was using Insert prefab in orthoview. Several tries. Works fine. So I then went to the file menu as I had this morning and tried Import prefab. And yes, the bug occurs every time. Well, that might give you a further clue as to the cause hopefully. I'll add it to bugtracker.

      Finally got my PC back from the shop after my SSD got corrupted a week ago and damaged my motherboard. Scary stuff, but thank goodness it happened right after two months of FM development instead of wiping all my work before I could release it. New SSD, repaired Motherboard and BIOS, and we're ready to start working on my second FM with some added version control in the cloud just to be safe!

Just to avoid confusing people who played your FMs years ago and remember your older nickname.
