  1. Sooo, is trick jumping possible with the D3 engine: ??? Cos if not I need a saw mod for those steps
  2. An old post, but what's new...? Are there any possibilities for minimization nowadays? Without running in windowed mode. I'm on Win8.0. Is it easy enough to use this code STiFU, a beginner developer? I'm not the most adept coder, and certainly not accustomed to the Windows API, indeed I only run Windows atm because TDM works better for me like that . Any clues would be appreciated. I used to use etminimizer back in the day, for Wolf ET - Quake 3 engine.
  3. I'm looking forward to your other missions Fieldmedic
  4. I still get shivers every time I hear that sound, even when I know it's coming
  5. I'm stuck on this map, and not sure if I should be fighting the ghosts, or if they should be chasing me (scaring the shit out of me!). I've read about a 'trigger_hurt' bug which is mentioned in a spoiler in Fieldmedic's poll thread for this map, but I'm not sure if this is part of what I'm experiencing: After taking the sword from the trophy room, one of the maid's ghosts comes for me. I waited around to see if I could hit her with the sword, after I noticed she would wait at the bottom of the stairs, but I'm not sure if it damages her or what. I know that in some cases, the lantern will scare maids away when they're on their own, but not when one of them, or both of them are chasing me. The two girls seem to be hanging around the art/tea rooms (which I've yet to enter, I know I need to get the oil from one of those rooms) and I can't get into, or near them, without the two of them chasing me (around the entire map, until I try to fight one of them but end up dying). Does this behaviour sound normal for the maid's? I've watched part of a youtube spoiler where after taking the sword, the player follows the maid who comes, but she doesn't do this for me. When she doesn't see me, she waits at the bottom of the stairs, and when she does, she chases me.....perhaps the differences are to do with difficulty levels....? I've yet to find the conservatory key, but I think I need to get that oil first.
  6. I'm well and truly hooked on The Dark Mod, I love it! A big shout out to all the contributors, a smashing job well done. I'm only on my third fan map - A Night To Remember, which has well and truly scared my pants off, I actually didn't want to play before bed last night for fear it'd keep me awake. I've dabbled a bit with sound design in the past and I really like the sound used in this map, as well as everything else in the atmosphere. The ghost's voice effects are quite chilling and send shivers right through me. There's some really wonderful scenery in this game and it makes great use of the element of darkness. For me the only limitations are that imposed by the engine but this doesn't keep me from playing. The ai can be a bit clunky from time to time but it's all part of the fun and the game still makes for an excellent single player experience, no mean feat. I'm a big fan of the storyline elements and how plots are pieced together, challenging you to keep reading and to think about your next moves, something you don't see often enough in video gaming I feel. Cheers!
  7. I'm pleasantly surprised that I can run TDM so well on my lowly 9400GT (running with all the good stuff at 1280x1024), happy days! Windows 8.0 x64 Core2Duo E7400 2.8Ghz 8GB RAM Audigy 4 Sound nVidia 9400 GT Intel DX38BT Mobo Agility 3 SSD
