  1. For the record, logging of and back on (after I finally wrapped up what I was doing) fixed the problem. If it comes back again, I'll test some of your suggestions. Thanks anyway. I overlooked your post earlier. It was actually on top of all windows, not just the browser. I just had that up when I took the screenshot. It was rather odd, which is why I posted, but at least it's resolved now.
  2. I finally got around to launching TDM after downloading the standalone version. I ran it, adjusted the settings to my setup, and then closed it. Now I've got this translucent icon in the lower right-hand corner of my desktop and it will not go away. TDM is not running in Task Manager, I've tried launching and closing TDM, nothing will make it go away. I could reboot, but I have things to finish up before I can do that, so I thought I'd ask first if anyone know what is going on here? This is in Win7 SP1, for what it's worth.
  3. That does help explain things a little. Thanks for the clarification. A couple things that would help is to have a default install path (e.g. C:\DarkMod) that could then be modified by the user. Also, it would be nice to have a browse option on the downloader, to be able to select/create the directory from within the downloader itself, instead of using Explorer to browse there, create the location, then type in or copy/paste the path in the downloader manually.
  4. Okay, so I've played the Doom 3 mod version before, but haven't touched it in a while. Now that it's standalone, I decided to take another crack at it. I got the downloader and proceeded to install it. That leads to the first issue. The downloader from http://www.thedarkmod.com/downloads/ isn't the most current version. I would have thought that the one linked from here would be the most up-to-date copy. Instead, it had to download an updated copy of the installer before continuing; an unnecessary extra step. Nothing major, just a minor annoyance. No spaces in the name? I tried to install it to E:\Games\The Dark Mod, but when it restarted after updating the downloader, it ended up as E:\Games\The. Once again, not a major problem, I just renamed the directory to DarkMod and all was well. Still, for a program in 2014 not to recognize spaces, that seems a little off to me. Which sort of leads to my discovery of the last issue. Quotation marks (" ") cause the downloader to crash. My attempt to retain the spaces in the name, led me to type in "E:\Games\The Dark Mod" and try to download/install to there. The downloader crashed every single time. Again, for a program in 2014 to be unable to handle quotation marks is a bit strange. Obviously none of these are make-or-break issues, and they're not high-priority, I just thought someone should be made aware of them, if they're not already.
