Even so an external ssd would also be prone to wearing out.

	Set r_softShadowsRadius 1

The current 3.x radius does not have enough shadow map data to render these thin shadows with that level of softening. If you want softer shadows you can also try r_shadowMapSize 512 so that the bilinear interpolation in the shadow maps does a blur operation. Clamshell takes each one down to 16-bit, basically forcing every two modules attached to each other to use a 32-bit controller, so you can fit 32 memory modules on 512-bit.

That's how you get RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Workstation Edition with 96 GB. 32x 3GB 16-bit modules on the 512-bit bus.

2016+ CPU/GPU News

https://forums.thedarkmod.com/index.php?/topic/18055-2016-cpugpu-news/&do=findComment&comment=507039

i'm waiting for rtx 5050 9GB benchmark for real , At first, I got the impression that maybe the extra 1 GB was the answer for " 8 GB might not be enough anymore" haha

You need to go all the way to "Very High" quality to get rid of these, a setting which for me is causing low fps e.g. when looking at the fireplace screen next door.
