  1. I figured I could make a "holographic projection", a 50% reflective and 50% see-through screen at 45% angle between your point of view and a display. I used the camera gui as a display, and reflective water as the screen, and it works : ) I made a black box (bc black) to put the model, light and camera (target_null) inside. This is a small setup, but big setups would work also I guess, for having ghostly figures floating around and stuff. Themeparks and magicians use this trick also : ) https://streamable.com/44b3v ====== Why not just have a transparent nonsolid camera gui? camerascreentransparent1 { qer_editorimage textures/editor/cameragui.tga nonsolid translucent noshadows { remoteRenderMap 232 232 // width / height of render image, ie resolution of screen red Parm0 green Parm1 blue Parm2 scale -1, -1 translate -1, -1 map "camerascreentransparent1" blend gl_dst_alpha, gl_one } } It also works : )

  2. Author note: A couple of weeks ago Kingsal & myself set ourselves a challenge, to see if we could make a small wholesome winter themed Dark Mod mission. And if we could do it as a speed build in two weeks. The final result was Snowed Inn. Enjoy and Merry Christmas! Thank you to our beta testers Epifire & Skacky. Thank you to Moonbo for his briefing video script revision. NEW UPDATE AVAILABLE 1.2 Version 1.2 Dropbox Mirror Version 1.2 also available via the in-game downloader File Size: 379 mb

  3. The map format is dictated by the game, not DarkRadiant, so updating DR will never make maps incompatible (assuming there isn't some catastrophic bug, of course). I do recommend keeping regular backups of your map files to avoid data loss however. Ideally you would use a version control system like Git or Subversion, but failing that, any cloud backup service that stores snapshots of older versions would also work fine.

  4. Okay, so I'm very late to the party, but this was more fun than Old Habits 1 ;)! Still there were some issues that should be avoided in other missions. I had very low framerates in the shed which probably was caused by the many objects there. I had to come here and get a hint on how to enter the priests room because I blackjacked him in the chapel. He should have carried the key, I mean how is he supposed to enter his own room after he left? Climb through the vents? I don't think so :). Also I had no chance to solve the crown torch riddle due to the fact that there was only one holy water which using my changed Unofficial Patch mechanism I threw at a statue and had none left for the other. Even for an optional objective one more holy light water, and maybe some additional gas arrows, would have been safer! I read about the correct order here and managed to finish the mission, surviving the nasty trap without noclip or chairs at least ;)!

  5. I tested these with the latest SVN: The Gatehouse Business as Usual The Bakery Job I loaded each one 10x and had no problems. It appears the bug is fixed. Thank you!

  6. @greebo Is there anyway we could get a darkmode for Dark Radiant? I made a thread about this 12 months back, but even if it was unofficial, it would make staring at dark radiant into the long hours of the night a lot easier than the glaring white it is now. I did a mockup just to show off how much easier it is on the eyes. Windows 10 does support dark mode which works for a lot of apps but Darkradiant doesn't seem to respond to this.

  7. Version 1.1 is on the official servers, however the mission needs to be uninstalled before the update shows up ingame. If you wish to download through the official ingame downloader, make sure the mission is uninstalled before trying to update via the download missions menu.

  8. The biggest mystery you got from this mission was the penis graffiti in the school attic?! I got a good chuckle from that Spooks. Thank you! Also thanks to everyone for the kind words. Kingsal and I had a lot of fun doing this. And it’s great to see everyone having a good time

  9. @peter_spy: Looking nice, but, I always have the feeling that your stuff looks a bit too clean and polished for Dark Mod stuff. To be honest, I'm not sure if that's really the case though. It could very well be that it just looks too polished, because there's a lot of light illuminating the environment. Might look just right, when there's not much light.

  10. Swing and miss, couch psychologist. I'm actually pretty likeable fellow in RL, and I've been leading a happy, fulfilled life Not sure what makes you think that this community is "tainted" by my presence, when your posts are just pasted words of others. At least I make original content that everyone here can enjoy using. But to honor STiFU's request, I'll leave you with a positive example on how you can do this stuff, and that's how Henke on TTLG's General Gaming posts. He actually gives a damn about actual conversation whenever he posts something about games, e.g. here: https://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=150251
