  1. I figured I could make a "holographic projection", a 50% reflective and 50% see-through screen at 45% angle between your point of view and a display. I used the camera gui as a display, and reflective water as the screen, and it works : ) I made a black box (bc black) to put the model, light and camera (target_null) inside. This is a small setup, but big setups would work also I guess, for having ghostly figures floating around and stuff. Themeparks and magicians use this trick also : ) https://streamable.com/44b3v ====== Why not just have a transparent nonsolid camera gui? camerascreentransparent1 { qer_editorimage textures/editor/cameragui.tga nonsolid translucent noshadows { remoteRenderMap 232 232 // width / height of render image, ie resolution of screen red Parm0 green Parm1 blue Parm2 scale -1, -1 translate -1, -1 map "camerascreentransparent1" blend gl_dst_alpha, gl_one } } It also works : )

  2. Goldwell and kingsal collectively working on a mission? That's like Mozart and Beethoven together writing a symphony! Thank you for that, will check it out later today. Jack.

  3. Talos Principle is in a league of its own It's a game with a multilayered, deep interpretation. It's not "cheap" philosophy at all (as Portal 2 is "cheap" psicology ) And it shows what CroTeam is capable to realize, Serious Sam apart!

And if we could do it as a speed build in two weeks. The final result was Snowed Inn. Enjoy and Merry Christmas! Thank you to our beta testers Epifire & Skacky. Thank you to Moonbo for his briefing video script revision. NEW UPDATE AVAILABLE 1.2 Version 1.2 Dropbox Mirror Version 1.2 also available via the in-game downloader File Size: 379 mb

  5. @greebo Thanks for looking into that! That's a damn shame, but it is what it is. In terms of changes, the only thing that comes to mind right now that could improve my DR experience is being able to lower the bar under where spawnargs are entered. There's a lot of wasted space in this area and I would love to finally be able to pull it down to the bottom of the window.

  6. Wonderful mission guys, I loved this one a lot. The map struck me as one with a very strong sort of remote city, stuck deep in pagan territory and an with ominous ambience throughout the city. I'd expect such ambience from a horror mission, especially around the woods and inside the sewers. Nice touch, not all horror needs to come from the undead.

  7. A wonderful mission full of winter atmosphere! I love stories that go from simple stealing to something more and I think I managed to fullfill all the objectives, even finding the hat on the way home. I have two suggestions though: I searched a lot for the snowman eyes because I expected them to be coals. As everything else can be found very early on, this will make players waste time around the schoolhouse. So maybe put some coals there and add the jewels to the loot? And about the spiders, why not add an objective once you find the message in the hut to look into what happened to the guy while implying you can't repair the stuff yourself? This way the spider update would be clear in the end!

  8. Great mission! I liked that the mission took place in rather compact area. Amount of running around wasn't that big and distances were small. The mission itself was long, it took me 2 h 45 minutes to finish. I had troubles in few occasions and and it took me quite a long time to figure out how to proceed. I also 99 % ghosted it which makes it always a bit slower. All in all the puzzles were good and with bit more patience I could have solved them myself without having the need to use walkthoughs/tips. I had few glitches/jams. I tried to kill spiders by opening the hatch but they never dropped there, just floated in the air. Something wrong there. I also got stuck few times. Not sure if it is a habit of reporting these incidents but I'll anyways do it here. 1) Garbage dumpster. I jumped inside and got stuck every time. 2) One of the rooms in 2 or 3 floor. I think it was some sort of quarter for soldiers. I jumped on the upper bed, opened window and tried to go outside. Got stuck between window/bed 3) The rock right to the dumpster mentioned earlier. I was just running over the rock and got stuck. Didn't try it again so not sure if it happens every time.

  9. Welcome to the 'people who've tried writing Pagan lines' club. :-P If this AI is meant to be 'poorly educated and rural', as quoted, then I like the animal/venery motifs, but I don't think he comes across as poorly educated. Bits like 'I do not fear your cowardly barbs' sound to me as though they're coming from someone who's trying to play the role of a heroic warrior out of literature, rather than someone who's authentically down-to-earth. 'Educated class pagan sympathiser' is a viable role of course, even one I find interesting, but a bit of a niche I'd have thought. Maybe not those exactly ('dark lady' makes me think of Shakespeare's sonnets), but I much prefer that approach to the number of times 'spirits' appear in the OP. The trouble with that kind of generic animism is that the stereotypes it fits are so broad, it can bring e.g. a North American Fallout 2 character to mind.

  10. Epic has another giveaway which wasn't announced, but if Steam reviews are anything to go by, then it's a very good game. The Wolf Among Us From the makers of the 2012 Game of the Year: The Walking Dead, comes a gritty, violent and mature thriller based on the award-winning Fables comic books (DC Comics/Vertigo). As Bigby Wolf - THE big bad wolf - you will discover that a brutal, bloody murder is just a taste of things to come in a game series where your every decision can have enormous consequences. https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/product/the-wolf-among-us/home Positive Steam review Telltale Games has once again formulated a remarkable and enthralling adventure game, with a chic noir presentation. A well-written game, appeasing action, and decision-making that feels significant. The Wolf Among Us provides one of the exceptional storytelling that Telltale Games has produced. Negative Steam review The Fables setting is probably the most interesting of all the modern Telltale adventure games; it's too bad the story is pretty dry. The lack of player choice is even more apparent than in other titles, likely because the flaws in the story itself are pretty obvious. The characters are great; it's a shame they're not utilized more effectively. Overall rating Overwhelmingly positive Personally I'm not a big fan of the Telltale games (just played the Walking Dead series) as the game(s) give(s) you a sense of choice, but in the end those choices lead to the same outcome. So even though you have different choices, the main story remains pretty much the same. Of course it takes a lot more time to create multiple main story lines but IMO don't say that choices matter then. Just my two cents and I haven't played this one, so it might be better.

  11. Please don't escalate this little nuisance now. Just let it go, both of you. It's really no big deal.

  13. The free game on the Epic Store this week is: Jotun: Valhalla Edition Jotun is a hand-drawn action-exploration game set in Norse mythology. In Jotun, you play Thora, a Viking warrior who died an inglorious death and must prove herself to the Gods to enter Valhalla. Impress the Gods! https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/product/jotun/home Most helpful positive review on Steam "This game has left me with mixed feelings. From one side - you have amazing artwork and location/boss designs, but from the other side you have gameplay... I won't say the gameplay is terrible, but it just doesn't work. The fights during location exploration are non-existant (if you kill a mob from 1 hit it's not a fight), and fights with bosses can usually leave you unsatisfied (you can kill him too fast or die when the animation was not even touching you). But nevetheless you should give this game a chance. It's too short to complain about it too much)" Most helpful negative review on Steam "I love the concept of this game. Nordic mythology is my favorite one and I had big expectations about this game. I was hoping for 2d epic boss fights. So... this game is 2% boss fights, 8% clearing trash, and 90% walking. Walking with an average speed on the massive labyrinth with nothing in it. This game does look good but it's not what I was expecting from this game. It could be much more fun if the "neverending walking scenes" were cut out and a solid 2h of gameplay will left." Overall rating Very positive

  14. I honestly keep forgetting Epic offers free games, so personally the reminder is a welcome one for me, but that's just my two cents.

  15. I applaud Carnage for providing this service. I had no idea there was an Epic store before he starting sharing his game info. Keep it coming Carnage, since I can't go searching everywhere on the Internet at once as some people here apparently have the ability to do. ?

  16. You know you can just skip this topic altogether right? I'm doing this in the little free time I have. It's meant for those that actually are interested and don't have, miss or forget about the notifications. 600+ views is enough confirmation for me that there is interest. You're always welcome to add your own text if you feel it is needed, criticizing is just cheap and something every rotten apple can do...

  17. Don't be so negative! ? Some people might have disabled notifications or they still did not install the Epic Launcher for whatever reason. I actually somehow missed the notification about Rayman (although I have them enabled). So I directly went ahead and got it. Thx @Carnage.

  18. There are at least two cyberpunk total conversions for Dark Mod. One of them uses (or at one point used) a lightgem I made. They're WIP and I haven't seen an update in a while, but I would be a big fan if they could be completed. I've said my biggest wish many times. It's multiplayer so you could play missions coop with friends, and we could (ideally) have thieves vs. guards maps. On the one hand it'd be a pretty structural change that wraps its fingers into most systems, so a big task. On the other hand, once you've done that, the game itself and most maps would be really fun coop as they already are, so that's all you have to do.
