  1. If you select your light and go into vertex mode (hit "v"), you can set the origin of your light to be off-center. You can then place the light such that the origin is near your wall and the entirety of the light volume is where you want it. The downside is that the center of the falloff texture does not get moved to your new origin, so you might need to make a new one for things to look right. If you're not quite sure what I mean, build a little test room where you can compare a regular light to one with a moved origin. I ended up making a texture like this: And since I reused this light a bunch of times I made an entitydef for it with this falloff texture and the origin already at the correct offset.

  2. Try the following on the lights in question: areaLock - origin or areaLock - center

  3. Seems like there are a rash of FUD videos about how "unstable" it is to use Linux This has all the ingredients of a targeted video meant to scare non-Linux users. 1) Starts by implying that Linux "might finally be ready for users". ( As if Linux having a good user experience is a "completely new development". ) 2) Talks about how a hot new Arch distro now can make it easy for users to install and play games. ( As if Synaptic Package Manager or Snap Store are impossible for standard PC users to understand ) 3) Encounters a wild buggy experience when installing a single App 4) Starts going into the weeds with all sort of jargon about distro issues and keeps waffling between "Linux good vs Linux bad". Anyone scared to try Linux will encounter item 3 and immediately look for a silver lining or happy ending but once they hear all the jargon and distro talk will just nope out. Ubuntu needs to wake up and start combating the FUD. For some reason, there is a big anti-Linux push. Maybe this has been stirred up because of SteamOS and it's presence on their Steam Deck game console is now a real threat and Windows 11 issues are driving folks to consider Linux instead.

  4. I'm guessing this needs to be run in the windows command shell? In any case that's what I did. I only get a black screen with no music, left it for a while, clicked pressed alt+ctrl+², got nothing, no console, no map, no music, just a black screen. I decided to test a little further and started the game normaly, tried to launch the in-game console but it wouldn't appear neither. So I rolled back to the versions that worked and launched the command that you gave and it worked, on 2.07 the map launches but on 2.09 it does not. I even changed some of the cfg lines to check it out but no luck.

  5. Yep, another one! My mission is also ready for Beta testing (when it rains, it pours, right?). I realize that @Bienie just started his beta, but if there is anyone left willing to test mine (or people willing to test both), please check in at my thread over in the beta testing forum.
