  1. In pursuit of a long-sought secret, the key to life everlasting lies deep within the recesses of an ancient athenaeum. Dragofer, Bikerdude, and I proudly present our FM for the Christmas Connections Contest titled "Written in Stone." Notes - TDM 2.10 Beta 5 or later is REQUIRED to play this mission. However, it is recommended to play using 2.10 Beta 6. You can get the latest version here. - This FM is a sequel to The Elixir. While it is not vital to play that before playing Written in Stone, there are some story connections. - This FM may be more hardware intensive than normal. LOD settings can be set below "Normal" to improve performance on low-end machines by disabling certain features. - Various areas will look better with shadow maps enabled at the possible expense of performance. - This FM implements the func_peek mechanic, allowing players to peek through any door that has a keyhole on it by leaning forward. PLEASE NOTE: This function has been known to cause crashes for a small number of players in the past, likely due to using the 32-bit version of TDM. At no point in this mission is it required to use the func_peek mechanic; it is purely optional, so feel free not to use it. 4. Congratulations. The mission looks like an original thief 1 or 2 mission at first glance. A true diamond for me. Now I have to deal with tremors caused from excessive happiness due to all those new missions released suddenly.

  8. Every FM should have a SR as an option on hardmode. This saveroom option is what the Dark Mod needs IMO. I know its a designchoice, the map has to be build around it, but it is possible to add it later on afaik. The saveroom option would make every FM more qualitative and the playthrough more thoughtful. Anyway, i love it and it fits superb.

  9. Seems I am out of emoji likes to use for the day But thank you all for the kind words everyone. I'm glad you guys seem to be enjoying it, despite the few technicalities involved in installing it

  10. The dev builds are older than the beta builds - you need to download the latest build from the "beta" category in the installer. The script error happens if the TDM .exe doesn't contain certain script events ( so, outdated ).

  11. What an incredible mission! The design of this thing is so clean and the package so complete I have no idea how it was pulled off, especially within the contest. Incredible setting and atmosphere with some truly awe inspiring scenes. I should be finishing my mission right now, but how the hell can I with content as good as we are getting from this contest! 2.10 looks like it's going to have a hell of a head start.

  13. I changed it so that only one objective was mandatory. And then during the ending scene that one objective gets completed which allows the mission to end.

  16. BREAKDOWN! Just a heads up that my earlier euphoria was misplaced. The Steam Controller config is full of unpredictable inconsistencies that no sane person could understand. I suspect the only gamers who have any success with it are those playing more modern games that already have xbox support. To bind specific keys to buttons produces a config you can save, but applying it to the game is frustratingly near-impossible. I even got earlier tests I'd made applying themselves that I'd not selected! In the end I deleted all my saved configs except one. At some point thereafter I did a test but in-game the only thing that worked was the triangle button produced crouch. Nothing else worked. I recognised this as an early test I made! So how did it suddenly get applied? No idea. There are no other saved settings of mine but my current one which has most of the buttons and keys defined. I simply cannot get it work in the game. But because occasionally something does affect the controller settings, surely there is a way? Sadly, I can only endure sessions of up to an hour before giving up again. Total time wasted so far I estimate at 15 to 20 hours.
